Well, I would post a link to his other three posts that were all the same......but the mods removed all of them. Some boat called a prototype for sale.

Chris-
It depends on what you want- normally aspirated burning low-octane fuel or supercharged (you'll be looking for premium everywhere you go). Pfaff or Lingenfelter have the SBC down as well or better than anyone when it comes to longetivity, power, and efficiency, but it's going to cost you big bucks for either.
It's tough (and expensive) to build the SBC past 1.25 to 1.3hp/cid normally aspirated, and your'e still going to be lacking the torque of a BBC no matter what you do until you get into the 400+cid small blocks. Those usually suffer in the longetivity department. Been there, done that.
I'd strongly consider Whipple's package for the 350MagMPI. It's what I would have done with our 28 Savage had we been able to keep it. Dustin has this system perfected, including all the re-programming. You should still have a reliable package with power similar to the 500HP, and speed in the 80+ range. From what I remember, there were no clearance or install issues doing Whipples with the way Pat built the boat.

I hope you got my PM after I sent it again.
Jim

Sure did, thanks. That's what I've been hearing...sbc is not gonna give enough torque. If I do anything it will be the superchargers, but more than likely I will keep it stock & enjoy the reliability!

Spilman what is next

I took my 28 off the market then put it back on, still not sure I want to sell, hate to see it go. What are you thinking of getting? I am Still debating over a 33 AT or I just looked at a couple of performance boats with open bows. Still up in the air..Good luck with the sale. vic

Good Question! I was selling to prepare for a business disaster...but it seems that may have been avoided. I have found a satisfactory solution; usually we don't get everything we should, but it will work and I can keep the boat. So, simply put I was selling & thought I would be boatless for a while, but now I am probably not selling...or if things go well, selling late this year and moving up to 32, 33 or 37 next season. Does that answer your question? Chris

Did it come with a 496 then you put a 525 in it? What happend to the trailer? Looks like the bow is tied down with a rope.

risky 08-10-2007 11:49 AM

I pulled the 496 HO

Dropped in a 525Efi, the 496 was not enough for me I always wanted the blue motor, I got a good deal on the boat so I used the 496 last season and put the 525 in this year. Nothing wrong with trailer it is a triple alum. myco, the rope is a useless safety measure, just use to having smaller boats when putting a rope on the bow served a purpose while trailering. vic
