AT vs. Baja

I agree the 29 isn't really a good comparison, but it is closer to the 28 A.T. than the 25. You are correct a single 29 would not be much of a performance boat. Hence my point that there really is nothing out there to compare it to, it really is a stand alone boat and that in it self is a great thing. As I have said before you won't have to see another one at every place you go. I always sit when driving and was very happy with the way the helm was on my A.T.s. The only time I stood up was to dock or when I wanted wind in my face because the faring and screen worked a little to good, and my knees are shot from standing up to much in other brands and getting beat the death. Never had to worry about trim, for the drive it was on my thumb and when it was set it pretty much stayed that way and I never needed the tabs, only if I had to many or to heavy people on one side or the other. Active driveing? well I really don't know what you mean by that. If messing with trim and tab or have to constantly correct steering, well that tells me you are in the wrong boat. Every Baja I have driven has been a handful and not at all enjoyable. I said it before and stand by it, Baja builds a nice boat for the masses and for the price. Some of us just know better.:ernaehrung004:
BUT, I think the 29 is very close in size & weighs a bit more; but w/twin sb's goes 60-62. Baja 30' w/496 HO's hits 70-71. I don't think the cabin is bigger in a Baja 29; slightly longer but not quite the headroom...real close in cu.ft. Neither the 29 or 30 is a single engine hull; the AT can move with single bb or twin sb's. my.02 |

They were made in the late '90s/early 2000/2001-ish timeframe, and are primarily located around LOTO/Missouri. All THAT being said, I am still helping my neighbor sell his super clean Baja 25' Outlaw. He wants an AT. :D http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o17835-en.html http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...d.php?t=162393 |

Can't get a price on there web site. $74,900.00 for base boat w/496 bravo and its a 26 now. It looks to me as though if you put the right stuff with a 525 xr and a trailer you might be close to the 28 A.T. Like I said I could not get prices beyound base boat but the option list is long.

so lets take 15% dicscount and add 16K for the 525EFI XR. So lets say you can buy one for 80-82K. Not even close to the cost of a 28AT. You get what you pay for.

I've driven a 252, 272, 25 Outlaw, and most recently my friend's 33 Outlaw. All 4 boats drove just fine...not at all a handful. In fact, the 33 Outlaw almost drives too "vanilla" for my liking. Now my friend's 259 Checkmate can be a handful...

You really think 16k for the 525xr? Even at that when you add all the other stuff I believe you would be in the mid 90s and that is getting close to the 28 but still not there yet. Like I said there really is nothing out there to compare it to evenly.
I would like some thoughts here from the people in the single engine market. For those who are in the market today, what are you willing to pay for a new single engine 525EFI boat? I am very curious. |
Maybe we should start a thread in the gen on that subject and see what happens. I still cannot think of anything out there to really compare it to though. It sure isn't a 27 Donzi:ernaehrung004:
