I know my way around up there a little. I've run the Scallop boats from New Bedford around to Providence to the shipyard and been by Block Island steaming south out of Buzzards Bay. I went to Montauk once back in the 80s and fired a drunk Captain and jumped on the boat and ran it home the whole way with the radar because the fog was so thick.
I do know the charts well and there will be many boats to follow.
Besides, it's all that much easier now with GPS.
Seas could be similar to the run back from Key Largo, or it could be like running on the Rivah....all depends on the weather.
Whatever it ends up being, it will be better than sitting here typing this response......

Well, I know Mt. Hope Bay, Rhode Island sound, Buzzards Bay and Nantucket Sound, but Long Island Sound will be all new to me.
I do know the charts well and there will be many boats to follow.
Besides, it's all that much easier now with GPS.
