PRA Mohegan Sun Poker Run-July 25th & 26th
#22
If you're thinking of making the run...DO IT!
The run across LIS is fun enough, but the run through the Atlantic, across Block Island Sound can't be topped...plus, the lunch stop on a little island in the Gulf Stream can't be beat. I didn't participate 2 years ago, because I was already out on the island for the weekend...talk about waking up a sleepy island town...AWESOME...people on Block welcomed everything in typical laid-back style....truly a great Poker Run event..

btw...wave as you pass, i'll be taking pics from founticbm's old sutphen...white/blue stripes....

I wouldn't worry about the seas, mostly likely 2 to 4's. You've got tabs don't you?
If you don't haul the Mini up, you and Les can ride with us.

Would be an honor to ride with either of ya... But remember I like to buy beers.... Let me know when you guys book rooms. Are they under a certain block? I hate having no computer at home.. would have jumped in the conversation a long time ago..... Dell just informed me it has been shipped so hopefully soon!!

Yea, last year there were about 70-80 boats. The run is based out of Ocean Performance which is a mile up the road from the marina and launching ramp. Most people stay at Mohegan, since it is mohegan sun. Its about a 25 min drive from Old Saybrook which is where everything is happening. You start at the CT river go across to LI and get a card in Greenport. The you travel around Shelter Island at 50mph then blast to Block Island where the lunch stop is. After lunch you then blast back to CT to the Thames river by the USS Nautilus and pick up another card. Then it's back to Old Saybrook for your remaining cards. The whole run is about 125 miles in very unpredictable waters. PRA does a great job with this event as well as Ocean Perofrmance. George and Bo were there last year running the 700 boat. Im pretty sure they enjoyed as well as everyone did. There should be some great hardware there this year!!

But that doesn't explain why I didn't see it the other day.
