You don't have the mag?

R Addiction 03-01-2008 10:51 PM

Sorry, hard to tell from the pic. I didn't realize it was hinged from the front.

Seems like common sense.

Those anchor lockers scare me. Look at the video of the Sunsation in Destin Inlet last summer. Granted the guy was driving like a idiot but when he hit the locker flew open and the anchor went across the boat and over the stern. It was a miracle it didn't take somebodys head off. I think Macklin is talking about a bracket and pin to hold the anchor inside the locker so if the door comes open the anchor is still secure. I have a neighbor with a Baja and his just wedges under the door with nothing holding it. That's OK just running around on the Chickahominy or down to Chippokes to anchor up on Sunday. But if I had a boat with a anchor locker I would empty it out before I went in the Bay on a Poker Run or anywhere there was any chance of running into big water.

Its a Forward Magic Cooler. Don't worry, no anchors up there. :drink:

Damn, you made me spill one of the marketing secrets. :D

Now thats a great idea.....Self draining......no need to walk all the way back to cockpit. I like it!!!:cool-smiley-011:

Scott, it is a three point system designed specifically for Danforth type anchors. They are screwed into place and the anchor is locked into them.

But I like the forward beverage holder idea. Great for those days when you just want to pull up to a beach somewhere and hang out with your buds. :cool-smiley-027:

I got it at either Boaters World or West Marine. Not sure, as it was many years and boats ago...:D

I thinkthe real problem is the latch. Nobody wants to put a latch on the outside they always use those compression things (little pins that push into a rubber insert) you need a real latch that will hold it under pressure. But you can't put some big chrome thing on the nose of a speed boat now can ya. Need it to be hidden, like an electric solinoid with a remote dash button. Are ya putting a windless in there?

Thanks Macklin, Will look around.. Hope to you soon. When do you normally get the boat out of storage?

Whenever I want! :D Typically dewinterize around the end of March or early April at the latest. Still expecting that one winter storm we haven't gotten yet.

My mechanic just pulled the port engine that was slowly dripping oil. Merc agreed to pay for it, so why not. Turned out to be the oil pan gasket. He went ahead and put a new rear main seal in as well while it was out. I will have him pull the other drive before he finishes up to do annual maintenance on that. So I should be good to go.

Just need a set of Maximus props. But the new heat pump unit I had to have installed took my prop money...and then some! :angry-smiley-038:

NO THANK YOU!!!!!!

Heat pump was on borrowed time. Air handling unit was original to the house...circa 1985 and the condensor unit was replaced in '95. The other system is not far behind. But hopefully our house will sell before that one takes a dump. :D

Looking to move over to Chick's Beach. A lot closer to the boat and away from the Oceanfront.

Thinking we will do the start this year. You?

R Addiction 03-02-2008 10:32 AM

Other computer has those pics in it. I'll wait at the 1st stop again. That way I can merge in and have a constant flow of boats all the way down. But things can change.:D
