Finally fired ours up on the hose last night. Every thing checked OK. Then I noticed the fuel gauge, the light was on and showing maybe 1/8 of a tank. Going to be an expensive first time out. I need to run Premium. Ouch.

It was always a lot for me seems like around $500 a weekend, the hour of manatee zones never helped. I have decided the next boat will be a 30-32 cat with eggbeaters. I will miss IO's, but I put a 172 hours on my boat last year and that translated to a lot of 93 octane. Let me hit that lottery and I will take a 43 with 1075's :D

I can get two weekends out of $250. Twin 454's 460hp. Easy to conserve gas on a lake.

Call me crazy, but after some post I've read and my personal experience..........I think a 28 with twins (any boat) gets better fuel consumption than a 28 single. So long as your not WOT all day. :hitfan:

Paid 3.79 - no ethanol (OK)

460lbs of torgue at 3100rpm helps.

I made two weekends on $200 but not a lot of high rpm operation. OK one or two WOT blasts. :p Actually OK to ride around our area at 40 mph or so. Definitely makes a difference on fuel. Actually starting to get some folks out on the water in our area. Not many boats out since our hurricane but our economy is doing well with 6 refineries within 50 miles plus the offshore drilling.

Hey when you want to come up to the cold north country?

I have been giving that some thought probably pretty soon. I will give you a call later in the week and see what sounds good.

No budget yet. But it's impossible to ignore how expensive it's getting.
I filled up last thursday on the water and it was $5.00 a gallon.
Don't plan on letting up yet, but my habits will likely begin to shift - towards less run time/more chill time.

Either that or I'm going to bust out the jetboat more often. The 454 sips gas compared to a 600sci.

I feel for you guys with twins.
