The boat is the perfect package with 525's.

I agree with you no argument from me. My point is all round more affordable on every point without giveing up much. And way smarter than a 28 with some big overpriced power.:ernaehrung004:

A 33 with twin 496s wll run well over 80 and cost the same as 28 with a single 700 NXT or twin Raylars based on my data.

Fuel effiecent and very resellable......

But who knows? It's really about what you want.

Someone should ck into what it would cost to insure a 28 w/700nxt I know what it was for a 525. I would be willing to bet it would be a lot more than my dream 33. And though I love the 28s I would prefer the room of the 33 if they are priced about the same now.

What about a 28 with a single Raylar?

How would that compare speed and cost wise to a single 525?

Seems the weight savings plus 25 hp would be ideal, unless there is a torque issue?

Ok I'm gonna go there.....

Biggest problem I see with trying to put that much horsepower in a 28 anything is the ride at speed. They weren't designed to go that fast and nobody really knows how they will ride at that speed so its a pretty big gamble. If you want to go 80+ safely I'd definitely want to be in a bigger boat.

I'm looking into a 530HP 502 for my Tantrum.......to keep it safe you have to know your limitations, thats all:eek::p

Here's a good question... pricing wise between a 28 and 33.
A hull rigged w/ no power or drives, but ready for them.
For a cabin, either one should be at most a cover girl cabin.
Just 2 simple benches on each side... about 48".
The rest is just storage, or open for Large rubbermaid containers w/ bungees.
The only difference is fiberglass and resin, and extra gauges for 33twin vs 28single. Ya know what... make it a 3way w/ a 28twin also.

Am i missing anything? Would there be any other differences between the boats that would make a price difference?

cool....sounds incredibly bad azz.

how much you figure a s-charged 500 or 525 28 w/ a drive built to handle that power reliably will set you back? I bet you could just start with a merc 700nxt and get all that w/ less headache...and a warrenty to boot.
