Back when we lived in Peoria Illinois, There was a high performance boat "salvage" yard that would buy old US Customs boats, referbish them, and sell them. My memory is not so good, but one that they had did catch my eye. It was a beautfil 38 Scarab, Kevlar hull, that was very well put together. I do not remember the motors, but let's say they were at least 750's (big block with serious blowers). But what really caught my attention was the paint job. Keep in mind, this boat is gorgeous. But they had kept some of the original lettering on the hull sides. Remember this is a United States Customs boat.

The lettering on the sides of the boat, still said "UNITED ATE TOM". Not sure who bought the boat, but I would suspect it has a history.
