Souds like you are right on, we would run 85-86 full fuel and loaded up and light load 1-2 chop best was 89 mph, tried our best for 90 but could not make it, the hydros liked neutral to 2 clicks north on the drives with bravos and neutral tabs for length from our experience, glad you like them. We are working with Hydro now on some custom 5 blades so we can keep a high X get on plane and top end. Enjoy the new wheels.
Yep, I was about 3 - 4 clicks past nuetral on the drives. :party-smiley-004: |
My one off Kustom Hydro P5X's are on the way, will see how they run.

Starting to find the sweet spot now, got cruise and plane dialed in.

Question. Brett and I where debating pros and cons on turning out and turning in on the props, what characteristics would there be for turning props in ? Just curious.

Turning in created way too much stern lift. It was an interesting experience though. We ran from Key West back to Pompano like that. Stick with props turning out. Steve |
I guess i need to clarify, if you where to build a set of props made for lower stearn lift and made to turn in has there been any testing done for this configuration ?

Update, Final props from BBlades are on and turning wonderfully, ended up dropping the drives 1" and reducing the prop diamater to 15" on the 5 blade maximus props, went from 23% prop slip to 16% and the boat is now running on rails once again at high speeds. Plane time is acceptable, Mid range punch will put you in the seat and trim is back to normal operating between 3-5 and neutral tab settings. We would like to Officially introduce Energy Crisis to the 100+ MPH club now running Kustom Marine power with full fuel @ 900' above sea level and fresh water. Cant wait to see how it likes the salt water in key west with a light load.
