I believe OSO is a very popular source for information for people who own or are interested in offshore boats and it's becoming more and more popular as time goes on. I know of a few people in my area who have told me that they are not members of OSO but have on several occassions visited this site to find parts, boats, and read what others may have experienced regarding their boating buying endevors and boating experiences without posting or saying a word. How much they are influenced by it or not I don't know...I guess that would be up to them.

hummmm....h2o,,,,,i think you are way off....I have mixed feelings but will keep them to myself....I don't have enough background on what was said. but when it comes to demographics ,,,, OSO is 100% right on. OSO will continue to grow and will/is a very powerful tool for research and diagnostics in the hi-perf boating community
AT does in fact build a great machine and that would be had to refute. the fact is, the average consumer is becoming better educated everyday due to tools such as OSO. the consumer is becoming more savvy to the marine industry's practices,,,,both good and bad. i don't have any answers for the occurred events, just opinions....most i keep to myself....i'm a true believer of "don't tell me....show me!!!"

Right on Audacity!
I've been boating for four years and am purchasing a new boat now. The knowledge I've gained through this web site is substantial. Boat qualities, power choice and accessory decisions were based on what I have learned here. Because of it's vast membership, OSO is a MAGNET! No drum beating necessary..
H2o - Where are you keeping the 37? (and can I get a ride?)

Well Cathy and I have been sitting back watching this whole unfortunate and sad situation unfold. The end result is that people do make mistakes; we are all human … yes apologies were in order and I am sure that this saga is not over yet.
However, just last night Cathy was speaking to her friend on the phone about how wonderful the AT experience was during our vacation and that her husband should be looking into this company for their next boat. So there are at least 2 Canadians interested. She was most impressed with the ride, fit and finish, as was I.
All we can say Pat is to move forward and continue to build your business, as everyone in life has experienced scrapes and bruises and has skeletons in the closet. The main thing here is to keep your integrity, resolve the situation as YOU see fit and move on. Anyhow AT is still on our short list, the sale may not come quickly, but this situation has not changed our stance on your product.

Although I have not been a member of this group for that long, I have enjoyed reading about everyone's experiences with boat ownership...both the good and the bad. That is why I became a member, to learn though other's knowledge. I am a tight ass, so if I can save money by avoiding a mistake someone else made, I will do that every time.
As far as OSO being anything other than an informational resource, or a major influence in the boating industry.......come on guys, get over yourselves.
Do I think that anyone would NOT buy a certain brand boat because of what is posted here?
NO. I would hope that after doing the research of prospective boats, we would all make our own decisions!
I recently posted saying that after all this AT/PP stuff..I would buy a cig. There was a
at then end of that sentence, the point being that I was kidding about not buying one of those brands and that hopefully I am imtelligent enough to base my boat buying decision on what is right for ME, and not what is right for others.
I do use the information gathered at this site as ONE PART of the decision process, not the entire process!
BTW: I have never considered buying a Powerplay. Why? Not because of one single thing I have read on this board. Simply because I don't care for the looks of the boat. That's all, no other reason. If I did, I would call the company and ask THEM about their product and see what THEIR response was.
Enogh rambling for today...I just hope everyone enjoys their boats REGADLESS of brand, and I agree whole-heartedly with those who suggest that this board should become FUN again!!

As always, Too Old, well said. If you ever make your way up here to Jersey, give me a shout and I will bring you for a ride. I know I will be going through the Carolina's on my way to the Thunderrun in October. I maybe able to be convinced to make a small detour.
I am really looking forward to taking delevery of my boat. It has been a great process, and the updated pictures throughout the build process have been great.
