Here's the start of what she will look like.

And, yes, it's a light pearl grey. And, yes, it has round deck hatches.

We have entered a new arena and look forward to the end result.

Looks good Pat!!! Ya gonna be around this weekend?

cosmic12 05-26-2011 08:47 PM

chuckbeecher 05-29-2011 10:33 PM

Round hatches?.....seems very similar to the ones Harry had on the 31 Infinity.
Leftovers?

Jassman 05-30-2011 09:21 AM

Congrats Pat.. I think this is a great idea..picks up where PP left off. I believe you will find that more and more people are open to this set up..including myself. What about trip 300's with the newer improved lower gear case on a 37...is that feasable...have a great holiday guys. JJ

R Addiction 05-30-2011 01:34 PM

Looking good Pat. Round hatches ...different....cool

I'm gonna guess it's in the gel based on it's location in the picture.
Steve

Sydwayz 05-30-2011 10:42 PM

Light pearl grey GELCOAT. It will have some subtile paint on it when finished.

Thanks brother! This has been a project long coming. Right now I have 3 USA boaters and one Carribean dealer lined up for demos once this one is running. All 4 are serious and 2 have contracts based on the performance, balance and ride.

I told ya it was going to be the next big thing! Now stop talking to Sobo....wanna take a ride?

Pat.

Whadda ya seen a 33 with that back drop before???? :evilb:

Sydwayz 05-31-2011 05:35 PM

As you can see in the latest pic, the 'AT boat bltch" option installed. His shoes are being glassed to the stringers; which have snap fasterners so he can go back to his spot once done tying up and washing the boat.

JUPITER PULSARE 06-01-2011 03:16 PM

Yamahas for the guys that what trouble free moderate speeds, Verados to appease the 4-stroke junkies and............Mercury 300xs's for the true speed fanatics!! Pat, you'll have plenty of choices!!

Little problem with Yamahas right now. You can't get them. All the big center console builders are going with Merc power at the moment. Not by choice neccessarily.

Is that due to the problems stemming from Japan's tsunami??

CanDo 06-01-2011 07:05 PM

Yes. Lack of Yamaha assembly parts. Merc doesn't have a supply issue.

Actually, Mercury does now too, due to all their sales because of lack of Yammies. A friend just purchased a new pontoon and had to drive and additional couple hours to a dealer that had a motor that he wanted. He ended up with a 115HP Merc, but would have had to wait indefinately for a 150HP. Between 115HP and 225HP Mercury OBs are hard to come by as that is their most popular range of motors.

There's no Mercury Outboard supply issue with the larger size engines, that Pat would consider for powering the boat in question. This was last week, and things change daily, so he needs to call Merc when he's actually ready to buy.

Sydwayz 06-02-2011 07:39 AM

The owner of this boat chose the engines for this boat; and they are already delivered and being prepped for this boat.

That said, Active Thunder is willing to consider any engine package that the next owner would like.

We have a "CanDo" attitude about building boats.

I just know that's not a picture of central rigging, hence the gel cote opinion.

Hey Pat, here's Checkmate's newest outboard powered 28' Sportboat. I think you're on the right track building an outboard powered Active Thunder!!

Agreed. Funny though about the 300 XS comments. I like the Verados.

Very Cool, like the "clean" look of the dash!

What are the smaller control screens under bigger garmin? Stereo?

Gladhe8er 08-01-2011 09:04 AM

Is that the toilet, front and center? No enclosed head?

I love the dash, except for the throttles.

It's a custom boat. We build what the customer asks for.

Of course. That's why you guys are the best. I just find it an interesting decision to do away with the enclosed head. I guess it gives you more room though...

Bottom right is the display head for the Yamahas. The left is.....

Hmmmm. What could it POSSIBLY be?

I can tell you it is a first for AT, however.

Interfaced gauges with trim and engine functions so you can leave the GPS on with the map?
