560 on a hot rod dyno. Realistic is 540. So my guess is the 565 will make prob 580. Good power without a blower for sure. Only a small improvement in power per cube. The blue engines always make at least what they advertise and usually more.

It looks like they increased the stoke by .25 inch. To bring it up to 533 CID. Keep in mind you have to run 89 min fuel in the 565 as opposed to reg 87 in the 525. I figure they bumped the timing up on the 565 because the compression is actually .05 less than the 8.75 that's on the 525. I know there are 525's out there that are in the 600 bracket depending on what has been done. I like the idea of being able to run reg 87 but 89 seems to be easier to find on the water than 91+. Doug

Im sure the price is alot higher. Merc never goes backwards. On the merc blog Fred Keikhafer did say they are a little disappointed with the sales numbers but thats because of the weak economy in the market that engine is intended for. The 1100/1350 is selling like hot cakes. That engine is the most impressive thing they have ever produced.

The 565 or the 1350 is the most impressive thing they have ever produced?

Because all they really did was make the engine bigger for more power. 580-600 is very easy to obtain reliably out of 502 cubic inches. A few cylinder head and manifold changes and a 525 makes 600 on 87 octane. I did it. On 240 hour short blocks. With that said im sure the electronic drive by wire and shifting is going to be awesome. Sync will be nice. Hope the throttle response is as good as a 525. Let us know.

They also turn the 565 up 200 rpm over the 525. It should be a great package. But you you really can't compare it to a quad cam twin turbo 1100/1350,To totally different beasts $$$$. The electronic shifting and sync should be very nice. Doug
