PowerplayJ, did your friend do any blueprinting on the hull? Were the drives standard length, IMCO -2 lowers or stock length? What props?
650-700hp will typically get your max speed into the 90's with Bravo I's and a fairly high x dimension (Most guys have gone to -2 shorties to get there). Bravo I 4 blade props should get you there, but you may need to lab them a little to carry the bow.

The boat has NA540's: Dart Big M blocks, AFR heads (full CNC), Crower Crank and Rods, 9.6:1 compression ratio, Hydraulic Roller Cam (Comp), with holley/AED 950 HP carbs. Headers and tails are 6" taller than Bravo CMI sport tubes - 4.5" tails, dry to the tip.
The tips are custom, we laser cut and rolled the stainless/welded ourselves. We divert water through the swim platform to quiet the boat in the channels. Needed to go with the mostly dry exhaust to avoid reversion due to the cams. The tips allow the water to mix back in before the end of the pipe allowing for good muffling performance when we need the boat to be quiet.
Its fun having the boat sneak out the channel and then wake the dead when you take off!

These results are consistent with what we've seen as well. I know the notched transom helps, if you don't have a notch, extension boxes tend to create a similar effect.
