I call the vette my 1/4 life crisis. I figure with advances in medical technologies, and my health insurance I should unfortunately live to see 100. That is if kidapache doesn't find me before then.....

Bringing it back to the topic AGAIN...I'd do a smaller step up first and get something with twins so you can run Lake Michigan with more confidence. You'll build experience, as well. From my 29 Powerquest, I went to my 35 Fountain...but I really really wanted a Cafe Racer. The CRs were more "rare" at the time (I wasn't really shopping nationwide)...and I ended up at a dealer that took my trade on the PQ. The Fountain DEFINATELY taught me to drive....I still love driving it. I have been in all of the boats you mention...31 Sonic, 33 Baja and 33 Scarab. The Sonic and Baja ride great in rougher water, the Scarab is lighter and runs on top like my Fountain, and is a very fast AVS hull. The Sonic has the biggest cabin with the most ammenities, the Baja also has a big cabin and a HUGE cockpit, and the Scarab is a bit smaller than both, but still livable.
It might be worth it to take a smaller step first and just keep your eyes on the prize. In a couple years, it might just be that the prize ends up being a 37. Now...off topic...the Bears suck despite what thier record says...have you been in central Indiana EVER? Its not that great, drugs are recommended...and Pat, it was 72 degrees here when I was driving home from work yesterday! I WANT SNOW, DAMMIT!!!! |

I'm not keen on the interior of the sonic's... They seem like they could have finished them off a little better with bolster design and some of the cabin.... But I did look into buying a 31 with 500's. I think if he is stuck on AT, the 32 is the way to go bc there just aren't any 33's and from what it sounds like, rsteiny may be gettin rid of his to move up next year...

Who's coming to Miami?
Well, does that mean that you'll be in the show in February? You've made some comments about having a 33' with eggbeaters, perhaps the new "Red" 37' and we won't even ask about the 29' ! C'mon, spill the beans, I don't want to get airline tickets and a cot to look at the latest center consoles! Sure hope Brian's done with the delete finger :drink: Miami? yes :bunnydance: In water? yes :evilb: Model? think big :boat: Usual spot? maybe :cartman: Happy hours at the bar? rhetorical question :ernaehrung004: |
Bad Influence, wait and get what you want. You'll be happier in the long run. There's a reason I'm following the 33AT threads also.
Long story short, I'm torn between keeping the current boat and getting the 30' cat that I'm waiting on a phone call that he's ready to sell or selling the 292 and getting a 33AT. There's good and bad reasons for either choice. I've got a bit to decide since the new house will be done and paid for this spring and I'm not gonna pull the trigger til we sell one of the other homes (3 houses and a lake condo currently). |
Hey guys lets stick to the thread topic:rolleyes:
