Certain people's perception of boat prices (that have posted in this thead) are WAY skewed pending all the other boats on the market vs. the one "owned."

Drock78 12-06-2012 02:21 PM

Very true Brian... hence why I called you about Greg's boat. Thunders boat may be worth it..but too much for my budget

302Sport 12-06-2012 02:23 PM

Said boat need a really good cleaning $30 FOR BEER AND A COUPLE BUDDIES TO HELP

new bow hatches $500

could have used some touch up work FIGURE $3k MAX

a pin on the drive was broken SHOULD OF HAD A SURVEY DONE AND IF IT WAS BROKE IT WOULD HAVE GOTTEN CAUGHT AND IF IT WASNT BROKE YET AND IT BROKE AFTER THE NEW OWNER RAN IT FOR AWHILE, WELL THATS JUST BOATING

he might have put 5hrs of actual run time on it before it shat a motor SAME DEAL SHOULDVE SURVEYED IT AND MAYBE IT GOT CAUGHT MAYBE IT DIDNT BUT MOTORS DROP VALVES THATS A FACT

IF HE DIDNT LIKE THE BOAT WHEN HE BOUGHT IT THEN WHY'D HE BUY IT?? NOBODY PUT A GUN TO HIS HEAD AND MADE HIM BUY THE THING

Drock78 12-06-2012 02:29 PM

I think your CAPS LOCK is stuck on.:angry-smiley-038:

It sold with power, I believe he was using it as an example. The boat did need a few things to bring it up to snuff but over all a cool boat at an ok price.

Drock78 12-06-2012 02:36 PM

Lol...easy on the keyboard yelling... it was an awesome boat..it was just my opinion.

POWERPLAY J 12-06-2012 02:44 PM

It feels good to yell lol. In fact I am going to go yell at my assistant just to feel better.

If you find an '09 33AT center entry minus power for $50k some where, please tell them to PM me immediately! :lolhit:

REMEDY 12-06-2012 03:57 PM

Said boat needs a lot more than mentioned. Some very expensive parts. The new owner has told me what he is doing and when he is done he will be into the range of what it is worth. Every boat is different and has to be valued on the spot.

I wanna know when a 33 comes up without power for 50 as well... I'll take two!

302Sport 12-06-2012 03:58 PM

You guys all missed the boat literally what can i say hah. It sucks but with so few 33 built, when one sells, it kind of sets the market and any buyer is going to use that boat as a comp and in the back of their mind have a hard time paying over what somebody bought another 33 for.

ActiveThunder 12-06-2012 04:14 PM

You should mention the seller was fortunate enough to be fairly financially stable with no loan and was ready to move on. I personally was shocked when I saw what he was asking.

It will not set the value on the others. Especially since there are so few unless there is something radically wrong with the boat mechanically. I have no doubt in my mind how it is structurally.

It would be like buying a 37 that was severely damaged and was bought for $25k. It hardly sets the standard.

Well not everything is as it seems on the outside. That boat wasn't even close to the other ones. Therefore that doesn't set the price. For example the two drives that aj bought from your neighborhood off a certain 37 only lasted an hour for one and three hours on the other before they both broke upper gears while cruising at 60. Inspected both drives and serviced both, no metal, everything looked good. Who knows. Seemed like a good deal but was really a waste of $7500! There is no hard feelings... just shows u can't judge value looking at the outside!

It really doesn't matter to me because Remedy isn't for sale and probably will never be for sale.

THE 288 KID 12-06-2012 05:58 PM

I put over 20hrs on it before it **** that valve.... It's a good boat just wasn't loved or cared for until I got it sadly. I dont know how long that drive pin had been sheared for. We got 90+ out of it with over a half tank and 3 people on lsc.

You got a good buy on it... you didn't hurt anything.. it was just time for that valve. Has nothing to do with how you ran it. The 525s all have that problem at about 280 hours. If you could have kept it, given time I'm sure you would have brought it up to snuff. It just wasn't cared for like the 3 other 33's. Yes all 3 of them are pristine still. That's not counting the outboard boat.

AJ POWERPLAY 12-06-2012 06:28 PM

Seems everything I have seen come out of that camp has been neglected... Notice a trend? Cannot judge other 33's by what one sold for... Too many variables

302Sport and his cronies... Hacked up 33, sunk 37 ended up being in worse condition then advertised, 33AT neglected and motor rebuilds questionable, another poster had bad drives sold to him... The list goes on. It's a Shame.

Wasn't referring to the cult.

Yeah that's what it sold for and the work it needed was very minor. Just a good old cleaning would've done a number on it. It was an 09 that ran 93mph the last day we used it and was used for 3 months a year for 3 summers. How bad could it have been? That's not even one year of use on a south Florida boat...

If it was treated so well, then why would the engines have needed rebuilt in the first place????

Many of the problems with boats are caused by neglect when they are not even being used.

How bad could it have been???? I've seen pics of an 08 boat with 90hrs. It needed about 8k worth of paint and powdercoat work.

Hacked up??????? You want receipts for all the work that was done on it?? Sunk 37 was as advertised, "Sunk" and the drives came off of the sunk boat. You Michigan guys do nothing but B!tch about every little problem you have with your boats and the used parts that you buy off of people. I have seen brand new stuff from Merc fail in the first hour of use, thats just how mechanical stuff works, if you cant deal with it, maybe you should go buy a corvette and get out of boating.

Drock78 12-07-2012 08:18 AM

Fact is, everyone knew the 37 AT was under water...including the drives....that was no secret.........and the 33, how can anyone bit*h about a used boat when you had the oppertunity to inspect it. Not like it was bought sight unseen.....Reguardless,.....survey,survey,survey.

BTW....I really havent heard the owner of the 33 bit*h about the boat,......... just his cronies. ;)
