Question for you guys. I noticed when I was out on sommerfliesby's 37, we were running about 80mph and tachs were around 5200-5300. He says 3800RPM nets him 60mph.
Those seem like really high slip numbers. I was shocked when mikey told me he had 32's on it. I know bravo's are a little light on actual pitch, but even punching 31.2'' of pitch for the 32 bravo, slip comes back 20-23%. Im assuming these are 1.5 ratio drives.
I guess my question is, is this high slip % normal on these boats? Its just a number, and really who cares if the boat runs good, just curious for my own knowledge. My old vintage non stepped fountain turns 17x28p cleaver props to 88mph at 5600rpm. Slip is 11-12%.

talking to the guy at hydromotive yesterday and he said the same thing. he said that is to much slip. he said u want around 12% slip and w the 32's he calculated 22% slip. im sure he is trying to sell me a prop but he was also making sense. i told him that pat recommended the 32's and he said to ask pat if they supposed to slip 22%. i am pretty sure i am gonna try a set of 5 blades. With hydomotive i can return them or change pitch if i dont like em so im gonna get a set. hydro is recommending a 30 pitch 5 blade.

I had some issues getting on plane in the rough with these props. Plus I have always preferred stock props for their durability and bite. That's why I stuck with the stock Bravo 32's until I decided to buy the Hydromotives...the year I sold it.
funny how you always have 5 blades on for sea trials, but the boats you sell usually have Bravos on them.
