New Transom... Ideas?
While I'm replacing my transom, updating the bilge and overall face lift, any ideas or wishes you would want done differently in your bilge? Pros/Cons?
- Pumps mount different places
- Generator exhaust exit location
- Color? White/Gray/Silver/Black
- Engine oil drains via drain plug
- Side by side, Semi-stagger, Full Stagger? Benefits outweigh work? (remember my 37 is a straight bottom hull)
Lets hear them!

White white white, my bay was light grey/blue and I couldn’t see a dam thing In there.
i also moved my raw water pickup plumbing so I can get to the shut off valves easily, And they are all stainless up to the valve no hoses, I though that was important.

Thanks, I'm thinking white also, but I hate keeping white clean. I have red in my Scarab I understand what you mean that you can't see anything, but that also goes for dirt and grime, lol.

Dan, what are the bigger benefits of a staggered boat?
Thanks

I had oil drains on the last three boats, the 32' sunny had them attached to the drain plugs where the 37' AT were stored up higher and you have to fish them out of the drain plug hole. All in all though they makes oil changes much easier in my opinion.

I actually use the drives and also have thru hull pickups under the engines that I have 1/2-3/4 open on a ball valves to adjust for water pressure and temps. Definitely will be adding transom oil drains.
