2nd Bi-Anual Thunder Run

Ok guys, and gals. The first Thunder run was awesome, we all had alot of fun. How about we pick it up a notch, go an extra day, a little further of a destination, and maybeeeee drink a little more, of course not when driving. How does late March sound or early April sound. The problem is WHERE!!!!!! Everyone chime in, let me know which month and where do we want to go boating, this way we can plan in advance, Thanks Jeff and Sandy:D

32fever 11-12-2002 08:23 PM

Bi-Analy?

What the heck do you do at these things?

:D:rolleyes: ;)

h2owarrior 11-12-2002 09:48 PM

Jeff, A little Hedonism leaking through:eek: :D

O.K. Back on topic. We are definitly in. We could try a freshwater destination that would allow a larger AT fleet. Or how about something on the Texas Coast. South Padre Island ?:)

I am not sure of the West side of Florida. Are there any fun places to go there ? Jon, AKA Sand Sucker, any comments?

Attitude Adj & Mrs Attitude Adj, Anything on the Florida Panhandle / Alabama border that might be fun ?

Maybe we could go all the way to Key West. I am a little leary of going to the Bahamas. Too much open ocean.

Well, lets see what everyone else thinks and start planning.

Kevin & Judy (h2owarrior and that lovely Tbikini)

Just looked at the "Thunder Run Video" thread and we would love to go out west for the next Thunder Run. Lake Meade or Powell would be Awesome:D

Just make sure it is not scheduled over Easter. Got plans that weekend:)

ActiveThunderTodd 11-13-2002 01:38 AM

well here's my .02

i have to pick my boat up from Florida sometime in the spring and bring it all the way back to Wis. To be honest I really don't want to trailer that thing anyfarther than I have to. (Wis to Fl is long enough as it is). So my vote is to do something in Florida. We pick our boat up and then go spend a week over at my mom's condo near Ft. Myers. Lots of great boating there. Or a trip to Key West would be fun too. Haven't done that in several years.

Jassman 11-13-2002 06:10 AM

Can we make it from FT. Laud to Hedo 2, Iv'e only been to Hedo 3:p :D

boatfreak 11-13-2002 06:29 AM

I would love to join you but I would have to go in Feb. or early March. I am stuck in spring work by the middle of March.

ATTADJ 11-13-2002 07:03 AM

Sometime in March would be good. We have some great boating in The Panhandle of Florida. We have the Gulf & Intercoastel waterway. Lots of options to choose.

ToddW 11-13-2002 11:10 AM

We'll be taking ours home in January. So I don't think we would bring it back to Florida in March.

The Texas coast doesn't sound bad.

I know we are in the minority being out west. If its to far to trailer the boat. Perhaps we'll still make the trip and hitch a ride.

ssherman 11-13-2002 04:41 PM

I am in on HEDO:D :D (AGAIN) Keep nin mind the spring havasu run in april. maybe a run within a run?

Consintracy 11-18-2002 04:00 AM

I can't go:( :( :( :( :(
I can't break from school:(

Jassman 11-18-2002 01:35 PM

Tracy, didn't you ever skip school, It's real easy, take it from a pro, I'll right you a excuse letter, everything will be ok, when can you go, thanks Jeff:D

h2owarrior 11-18-2002 10:46 PM

Tracy, I have got to agree with Jeff. O.K., if you're going back to medical school, I'll cut you some slack. But if it's for a business degree or something like that, you owe it to yourself (and Todd) to come on down to sunny Florida and enjoy!!!!!!:D

If you have homework, I promise I will help you with it. No promise on the grade, but we will get it done:D

Consintracy 11-19-2002 06:04 AM

Well....Maybe I'll have to skip this event.....For 1) I don't get into that "Bi" thing 2) I don't get into the "anal" thing either!!

But, thank you (I think) for thinking of me guys.

Jassman 11-19-2002 07:35 AM

I apologize on the anal thing, it was a INSIDE joke:p :D How does January sound in the Destin, FL area , alot of neat stops and resturants as well as places to stay. :D

ToddW 11-19-2002 08:50 AM

Destin in January sounds good to me. Right on our way home with the boat. :)

thunderdan 11-19-2002 01:25 PM

Destin in January works for me also. I really like the sound of that. :D :D

boatfreak 11-19-2002 01:30 PM

Destin sounds great to me. If you dont mind a little 28 joining in.

ActiveThunderTodd 11-19-2002 02:26 PM

Well you'll have to count me and Tracy out in Jan. As she's already said she'll be in school and I'm still coaching bb in Jan. We don't get done till march. Early April is when I'll be heading doen to pick up my boat. (unless a new one isn't done by then ;) )

thunderdan 11-19-2002 03:38 PM

A new one, is there something you are not telling us Todd?? Todd does late March work for you? We can always do two runs if people still want to go in Jan. What about the last weekend in March, I think it is the 29 and 30th? Once April hits I am slammed at work.:D

ActiveThunderTodd 11-19-2002 08:11 PM

Yea the last weekend in March works well for me.

As far as a new boat.....don't have anything definate to say at this time..:D

Jassman 11-20-2002 06:44 AM

I have been reserching a few things, Destin in Jan. is half closed down, which could be a good thing or bad thing. The weather is not going to be as warm as say the keys. What do you guys think of some diffrent place around the keys in Jan. and when its warmer do the Destin run, lets elaborate:rolleyes: :D

boatfreak 11-20-2002 07:07 AM

I was thinking the same thing Jassman. My family goes to Destin in March every year and even then it can be cool. I can go any where as long as its warmer than Indiana.

Jassman 11-20-2002 07:31 AM

Hey I'm orig. from Wisconsin, so I feel your pain:p :D I DO NOT miss the winters up there, take care:D

thunderdan 11-20-2002 10:02 AM

I will do the keys again in Jan and destin another time, hey I am easy and anything to get away from cold jersey weather.

Jassman 11-20-2002 04:31 PM

Lets do it, The Keys in January, and then do another run in March or April so that the guys/gals that can't make this one can join in for the Destin run.:D

ToddW 11-20-2002 04:43 PM

Sounds Great. Keys in January. How about the 18-19th weekend. Some may have the following Monday off.

I really hope our boat will be done for this one.

Jassman 11-20-2002 08:30 PM

You just got to get on someones ass:p ;) it will be, Im anxious to see the new millenium deck.:D

h2owarrior 11-20-2002 09:05 PM

What are you talkin about ?

I thought they cut your "deck" off during the open house:p and are now in the process of installing the new "deck". I put the "deck" in parrens so there would be no confusion:rolleyes:

Jassman 11-21-2002 06:43 AM

What I meant to say was I have not seen Todd W, or the new deck on my boat:rolleyes: So two boats with the same deck will be there.;)

boatfreak 11-21-2002 06:50 AM

The weekend of the 18-19th works for me. Lets put this together and see how many boats we can get. Do you think the Keys will be warmer than Indy? :D

thunderdan 11-21-2002 07:47 AM

How far does everyone want to boat this time. If we put in at Pompano and then go south how long does everyone want to ride to get to our destination?

Do not worry Jeff, I will bring a 5 gallon gas can for you this time.:p

Consintracy 11-21-2002 08:19 AM

Hey......I don't have to be to school until the 20th!!!! Maybe, Todd can take a long wknd. & fly down too!! I'll miss him if he can't....lol.....J/k Todd.

ToddW 11-21-2002 09:54 AM

Jeff,
Pat loaded some updated photos of Monsoon with the new "deck"

Dan,
We could stay at Holiday Isle this time and day trip further down from there. Just an idea.

boatfreak 11-21-2002 12:20 PM

Guys I'm new to this water so I will go wherever you take me. I will likely take a week off so I am open for anything. I have driven to Key West many times by car but I don't know anything about distance or time by boat.

Jassman 11-21-2002 08:20 PM

Great to have you come along Boatfreak28, it will be alot of fun. Todd W, I checked it out, hard to tell from the shots, I get to see the new deck on my boat next week when it gets delivered:p :D Can't wait till Jan., a longer run will be fun:D

Jassman 11-22-2002 07:50 PM

Just spoke with Diane, how does it sound that we depart around 10 am on the thursday the 16th and return Sunday, Monday is a holiday anyways. We can stay at the same place or cruise further on down, OR, looking for alternate decisions, HOW MANY CAN MAKE IT THIS TIME, JASSMAN, THUNDERSTORM, H20/TBIKINI, TODD W, BOATFREAK, DA MORE DA BETTER:D

h2owarrior 11-22-2002 08:52 PM

We'll do some checking and let you know ASAP. I think we can probably make it. Does this overlap with the Miami boat show ? Not sure of the dates for that.

Jassman 11-23-2002 06:34 PM

Kevin, I believe the Miami show is in Feb, and you better make it:p :D

Jassman 11-24-2002 01:08 PM

Ok guys and gals, who's in, this way we can check for room rates and so on, thanks Jeff:D

boatfreak 11-24-2002 08:03 PM

Jeff,
Will everybody be back for the Miami show? If so will there be any kind of run involved? I normaly spend ten days in Feb. for the show and fishing in the lake. I am not backing up just wanting to plan my work around it.
