There was a 25 citation around here that had an hp500 in it, It ran 73-74 I think. Not positive, but I think it did see an occasional 75. In that size of boat, it really is by far one of the biggest 25's around. I rode on the one with the hp500 and it was a fun boat, and rode well on Lake st clair, which gets pretty snotty. What other boats are you considering? What do you plan on using the boat for, racing everyone like it's a hot rod, or hanging out on,and an occasional speed run? It wont be the absolute fastest hull in that size, but the room in the cockpit, storage capacity, and cabin size are hard to beat. It's the same old story with any comparison, give up this, to get that. They are nice boats though.

Default 25' Citation !!

Hey Dave & Rob,

My buddies 25' Citation was just popped from the mold last week. He should have it by the end of the month.

He purchased the 496 MAG HO, stated at 425 HP, but more like 415-420 HP, as mine dyno-ed out at. We think the boat will do maybe 63-65 mph as is.

My 27' Victory does 62 mph on GPS with the 496 MAG HO. I am looking at about 75 mph with a Whipple as it should make about 610 hp when complete.

My other friend has a 25'Citation with a Whippled 500HP. The boat is not set-up for max top end and ran 77 mph on GPS. I think it would run 85-87 if proped right, but my budy likes the hole-shot and does not want to push it.

Another set of friends just picked up a used 22' Citation with the 6.2 MPI and we are going to run it forthe first time tomorrow. We thinkit will do 58-60 mph

Hope this helps !!!!!!!

CJG.

Default 25 citation

I had a 98 with hp500 carb motor, probably
the one rob road in. I tried 5 different
props and finnally got it to hit 71-72
on the speedo. It ran about 66 when I got
it. Cabin is big if you don't want to sleep
in it. The berth is only for kids. My 27 Fountain
handles the rough stuff much better.
Have fun.

I just picked up my 02 25 citation with a 500hp volvo dpx. First time on water it ran 70 at 4700 with air in sterring lines. I have been told that the dpx give it more lift and runs 6-7 faster the merk. I still dont have the right combo of props for colorado. It ran 64 and is hitting rev limiter with same props from havisu. very happy with boat.

Welcome aboard Colo,
Glad to see more advantages on here.
I really liked the 27's
Know of several with over 500hp and they run strong mid+ 70s
I have a '99 28 Cat with bone stock 502's
I am getting the itch for 32'

Great to hear from you and welcome to OSO

If I lived near the waters you do Rob, I too be looking at a 40
Once I get, hopefully, a 32' I am sure in time I will be wanting a 40.
I trailer all over and a 32 is about max for that.
Just wish they would think about a bigger cat take half hte center sponson down, larger steps, and more freeboard
not to mention a larger, maybe walk in cabin

damn, already getting out of my price range
starting to sound like a Mares

My water on Lake st clair is great, never too bad at all, and it's been fine in Lake Erie as well. I just want a 40 cuz it's sweet, and I would trailer that too, just need to make a little more room for turns.
