Thanks Guys I appreciate it

two 502 CI big block chevy motors with Dart pro heads 3.3 whipple charger and single1150 CFM dominator carb on each motor. run about 9 lbs boost. each motor makes approximately 800 hp. run 12 inch extension boxes with b max 1,19 outdrives and 33 pitch herring 5 blade props. also run a 2 ft long tunnel tab which I raise up at 110 MPH.

boat is laid up light with all baltec bulkheads only plywood used is in transom and engine mount stringers.

all boats were supposed to pass the start boat at less then 30 mph or they were supposed to be penalized . 5 mph taken from top end speed if between 30 and 35 and 10 mph if between 35 and 40 mph. above 40 the run was supposed to be disqualified. don't know if they actually enforced it, I hit starting line just at plaining speed someware between 20 and 25.

Are you motors in the stock location? Do you know what yours weighs on or off the trailer?

bobkatz 09-02-2009 04:23 PM

Thats pretty impressive given the hp, any pics of the motors (location)and drives (heights), I know tssteph is wanting to see them also.

I read that the b-max drive usually drops a couple of mph did you do any work, shaping on the lower?

quest 09-02-2009 09:37 PM

the motors are approximately 8 inches forward ie I have 8 inch long driveshafts. Dont think that forward is any faster then transom mounted.
Slightly filed or rounded off the leading edge of the b max skeg. the leadind edge was very flat. dont know if it helped but certainly did not hurt. will try to post a picture of the motors in the next couple of days, center of prop shaft is 1.75 inches above bottom of sponson have to use offshore pickup on transom to get enough water pressure to motors

Very impressive. What rpm's were you running at 139?

Pics of the tab would be great. Manufacturer product or custom built? When you say "raise up", do we take that to mean after 110mph you raise and set the tab at 0 degree's (or neutral) to the bottom of the hull?
