Rick,
you should change your handle to "Lucky Rick"
blackhawkdn, You must be related to Art
Art Dinick,
I am not bashing you at all,you all got it all wrong if you think this........I am just simply saying you and Steve screwed up American Offshore from the day one,and now find yourselfs in a big mess from another bad business decesion made by you and Steve. Blackhawk said you were well in the black when Scott took over and you for sure know this is a bunch of **** and you were never in the black not once!!!!! I said you were 100% of your word and I would like to leave it there but after reading the crap about me taking your money your word is going to hell real fast.......You know I tried to send you down the road with your option money, told you that you would loose everything you put in to this business"after working with Steve for a week" coz you did not have a manager to run it and you got all weird like I was trying to scam you and you insisted on going through with the deal and all so said Steve would sue you if you did not do it.......
Just for the record.....Art & Steve are really great people they are really funny when they fight"you have to see one" and they are lousy boat builders and bad character judges! I do not think there is nothen either one of them would do for anyone and it is a crying shame the likes of Scott found them!!!! Scott and Amy were pictured in Hot Boat magazine, "Emerald Boats" and this is what sold Art on Scott...........If only Art called Emerald and asked a few questions things may have been different............

This comes as an unfortunate surprise to someone who is/was just about to buy a 1999 31 A/O. I really like the boats, there build, and all they are capable of, however, would buying one at this time be a major mistake?
What do you think resale would be if A/O was to fold?
Thanks for the input, I'm still interested in the boat, just can't afford to make a mistake financially!

Fasteddie just to answer your statement, there is not relationship between the owners and me. some of my friends own A/O's . I am being an observer after a friend a mind told me to check the site. The only thing about you thats apparent in your mine you are the only great boat builder in the world, Peter at skater, Bob at Eliminator, Fountaain all run circles around you .....

Damn this is a good thread. One thing about ed when he ran AO. He was always there and knew everthing that went on. Good owners have this quality. Of the times I went by AO Ed and his brother John would be doing late night work in order to get boats out. Ed always watched over each boat like it was his own while building it. Not too many builders like this. Most builders are trying to figure out how to make the most dollars off the customer. Ed I think alot of us would like to see you build again.

Geez, I have been following this thread because I love AO boats, I was not going to say anything, but this thread is simply brutal. It's a true shame that AO is being drug thru the mud from absolutly every direction. No matter who takes over from here, you guys are flat out trashing the American Offshore name. Type on if you wish, people will read, but please realize that you are causing horrific damage to yourselves here.
To me this entire thread is not entertaining, it is unfortunate. You may want to take this matter off a public forum. I hope I do not come across as snotty here, that's certainlynot my intention, I just hate to see this happening to such a cool boat make and all the current AO owners. My .02, good luck to everyone, hope it all works out for the best. A4

Allan4 you are absolutely right. As I said in my previous post there is absolutely nothing to gain by bashing American Offshore. All American Offshore owners lose if the company folds. It should be enough to know that I am trying my best to keep the company alive.
It also serves no purpose to argue who built the best American Offshore because the integrity of the boat is only as good as the poorest person that put it together. Many American Offshores shared the same workers. Jon worked for both me and Ed. Darren worked for me, Scott, and Ed. Many workers in the boating industry move around and have worked for many companies at one time or another.
Read the articles in Hot Boat, Power Boat, Poker Runs America, and Family and Performance Boating. Ed's boats, Scott's boats and my boats all got good reviews.
So lets end it
