Default Real Apache or a splash?

I ran across a "28 Apache" sitting inside a gated yard when I was working the other day. The thing is all white with twins/TRS on the back.
Here's the twist. It has Bennet trim tabs on the transom, looks to have been there since day one. I ran the HIN and the boat company was listed on the data as Royal, the first three letters of it are APH and ends in 888.
I spoke with the owner and he MAY be interested in peddling the thing (Only spoke with him over the phone). He said that he has owned it for ten years, the original owner being from 1000 island area (Upstate N.Y.).
Is it an Apache, or a splash?

Bryan

A long time ago I was looking at one in up state NY, with 330's and Bravos with Bennetts, almost all white with a burgandy stripes,it was for sale about 10 years ago. It has black lexan cuddy doors. It's an 1988, they are awsome boats. Steve

The Apache hulls built by McManus start with AB8, not AP8.

Nykamp,

I imagine that the one I'm talking about is that same boat you looked at.

If APH is truly Apache, why would the boat company come up as Royal?
Have there been other 28's that had Bennet's instead of K-plane's?

Byran it sounds like the same boat, back then I believe it was called arrow dynamic, it's the only 28 I have ever come across with benetts. It was very plain jane, buy Steve's 28 its sweet. Steve

Steve,

I'm boat poor as it is.

Anyway, I'm always on the lookout for a neat project and as I said, I just ran across this thing while I was working. Never figure that I'd see one of these in the hood...
The Royal boat Co. is listed when you run the HIN.
