My opinion is that a boat like Mark's with saddle tanks and no cabin is much easier to replace the tanks. From what I see, Jayl's probably has a belly tank because I can't see the saddle tanks. Keep in mind Jayl's apears to be a full stagger from the picture and Apache Warrior is a half stagger full cockpit boat. Apache Warrior has a belly tank and also has a second tank up in the V-Berth area.

The cockpit floor would need to be cut to gain access to the belly tanks. Or, eliminate the belly tank and install some saddle tanks so you don't have to rip up the cockpit. I know boats that are 5 yrs old (a 45 Sonic) that needed a new tank and others that are 20 yrs that have the original tank. I replaced the tank in my Scarab when it was about 10-12 yrs old.

I was talking about the amount of time and money and hard work we need to invest for upkeep and maintainance. Just when you think you've got it perfect another little gremlin shows its head.

I bought a new Concept 3 years back and it had maininance issues right out of the box. A freind bought a brand new Outerlimits 51 and same thing. I agree start with fresh but with boats its still the same. I don't know how you guys deal with 20 year old boats mine are all relativly new good thing I own more than one this way I'm never boatless on the weakend.
