WOW! Great buy at $25k!! I must have been asleep at the helm to miss that one. 600-750hp per engine with Konrads, new gauges and accessories, white paint (love all white boats) and you've got one hell of a ride! Best of luck with your project & be sure to post pics of your hard work.

Standard Bravos on a boat of that weight are going to be intolerant of hard starts and throttle mistakes when leaving/re-entering the water with anything over 450-500 hp. 600's will make the boat sing. 750's would make it haul a$$.

I can make these 600's for just a few dollars more, if they don't get there as is...

Yu can get XR's with warranties for around 7k each.

XR's would hold up great in that boat and they are a hell of a lot cheaper than Konrads, and you won't need any mods.

leave it alone unless it has problems. put 150 hours on mine. 93 bravos with 415 hp 502 efi's. never an issue. if you break a drive put another bravo on it. ease it on plane and you wont be buying drives....

I agree.

Warpaint ran bravos and his 28 apache had twin 650hp's. He had more than a few hours on that boat.

I know that Griff had good luck running a bravo with imco upper er lower (can't remember) on a single 28 pantera with 560hp beefed up 525SC. Dude Sweet has it now and he ran the hell out of it, had it inspected and they didn't see anything.

Just take it easy.............I don't care what your running back there, if you run it like a 41 the outdrive will not be your only worry......

I recall reading that CDF5 got my 28 up to 77mph with twin 460hp.

We have a 42 revolution down here that uses rregular bravos and it has triple 750's in it. He doesn't break one very often and that boat has to easily weigh over 14k.

I do want to pull the Bravo 1 and go over them, I may keep them, as for power I think twin 650 will be the ticket, I may just do the cosmetic items this year and wait to the motor, I am not sure if I will have the time to get into the motor before spring. In any case I got a great deal on a great boat. I heard the weight of the 1988 model was around 9,000 lbs?? and that was from Bob S.

I think leaving the engines till next year is a good move.
It'll give you a chance to experience the boat and get some educated opinions on what you'd like. Also, it'd suck to pull them out, and god forbid, encounter a problem, and not have them back and running for the season.

And IMO, w/ 650per side, and not being abusive, you should be OK.
