So anyway.... the engines came out this week and are completely disassembled. Come to find out.... very unlikely that they were really Cobras.
They were mismatched. One had nice pistons, rods. One had regular GM.
Both cranks are spun. Most likely one went.... and then the other one went on the ride back in. One of them (probably the one that started the chain reaction) lost an oil pump combo screen/pickup and was probably sucking air at time of steep hull angle.
Guessing one lost oil pressure and spun the bearing.
Heads look good. We'll see.
Way too big dominator carbs have to go.
Declined a pair of blower motors today.
Drives are off and u joints, shafts and gimbals are lovely.

Any new update on your Apache Brave?? Why did you decline the blower motors?, just curious. Anyway, I've been following this boat since the beginning and kind of wanted to see how you were getting on for power...

I knew that power was an issue.
However, I will accept your free jet ski offer to make it right, since you did say that they were rebuildable, and they are not.
