If you're worried about top speed and drag racing, the Apache isn't for you. It'll take more horses to get it to a given speed than just about anything out there. On the other hand, if you aren't a pond boater and you like to run in open water, no other boat in that size range will be passing you on most days (slipping into my best T2x voice imitation) "...'cause there's nobody else out here, folks". It's an offshore boat in a world where bragging rights are won and lost on ponds and bays.

not at all concerned at top speeds... just curious... under good conditions i'm rarely over mid 50's... just when it gets a little rough my ride is tough.... and i'm rarely over 40 in those conditions (unless i'm just being a wus).... i would like something that can comfortably cruise in the upper 40's lower 50's in some decent water....

The 28 will run 50mph in water that would frighten you in the Velocity. Someone could sit on the rear bench and drink a can of soda while you were doing it.

Funny last post by sunkin. We were out on a calm day, or atleast what I considered a calm day and saw a 24ft west coast deck boat cruising by at about 15-20 doing everything he could to keep the nose high and the water out. My twin sister fell asleep on the way back with beer in hand and didn't spill a drop.

i've heard that tex.... (and i'm really not a wus)... that faster is better and in some wind and chop it seems to like going faster but when you have a large chop mixed with swells and and chit it gets nasty around here....
