What you think, Stinson

Bubba
Well lets see.....like I have always said unless you just have to have one you are better off paying for Tonto's gas and boating with him.....

Tonto's Theory

Hull $0.00
Chief Power/Twin Turbo approx $200,000.00
Drives/#6 dry sumps approx $60,000.00
Rigging/Parts approx $50,000.00
Rigging/Labor approx $20-$30,000.00
Interior/depending approx $15-$30,000.00
Paint depending as much as $100,000.00
Myco Trailer $20-$30,000.00

Thats using brand new stuff with the best people in the industry doing the work Thats a half of a million....go used cut that in half....do the work yourself lose the labor and 1/3 of the paint if you if you can paint.....you do the math!!!!

[QUOTE=Tonto;3529933][FONT="Comic Sans MS"][B][COLOR="Blue"]If you were "given" a 41 at no cost with no power and rerigged (engines, drives, paint, cockpit), you will be WAY upside down .................................................. .................................................. ...........I think that statement is about 98% true , you do have that 2 % of the craftsman left who can pull it off , + whatever expenses run over the budget you just chalk it up to Fun .

.................................................. .................................................. ..........................I would consider a 41 with 3 or 6 man bolster without power , with or without drives .

Not to mention no matter how good you are that group will do it better. The deal these days is buying the best used boats and doing nothing to them but running them

.................................................. ...............Ha Ha , there is no such thing , there was a 41 Apache at the high + Dry , it ran like 750 Hp with like a # 3 or something like that , well the owner had a personal mechanic working on it . I mean he hired a guy just to keep his boat ready to go . if you guys think you just buy the boat + buy gas , your dreaming , especially with the big umungous power they sell now, its not just a gas + go thing ,

Hey Cheese --
I'm pretty sure that NK/Parnell is well aware of what it takes to maintain these boats
He was merely stating that there are some great deals out there on boats that have already had a ton of work/upgrades and are in pristine condition. The cheapest way is to buy one of these rather than buy a fixxer upper....

Thanks Dave
I can say for sure that if you bought Tonto right now you would put gas in it and take it to Key West. Those Chiefs are great but of course its not a 525 Question concerned 41 Apaches so they will all have big power
