28 brave owners need exhaust help

Any chance one of you 28 owners can help me. I have stock Merc exhaust , and looking at used tubular stellings. Does any one know if there is a clearence issue down the middle ??? Can I use any ol' bbc tubular header ????? I had heard the 28 where built with the motors real tight together ?????
I believe 36 inch spread is typical ??

Not sure what u r doing for engines but I have a set of stainless marine headers set up for a 28 brave with tall decks. They are dry to the tail and fit right through factory transom holes. Let's say I had to do some reworkIng to make them fit
They work great and can b for sale if you need them

My drives/motors are about 34 inches on center. Most boats are 36 on center. Didn't want to spend several thousand , and find out they don't fit. I have 502 efis with bravos...
I am interested in what you have also.. Are yours the cast aluminum units ?? What are you running now ??

+1 on stainless marine.
I'm running stainless marine on mine. Its relatively easy to pull and drop in one motor without removing the exhaust. Spark plugs are a biotch, but can be done fairly easy if you pull the risers off first.
