The smart buy would be the 2006 Chief with new interior and fresh 950's for 150K. You can go boating and you spent all your money upfront vs. projects with the "unknown factor" and then 2 years later you have a 30+ year old boat, 150K into the redo total (boat price+redo) and the boat still hasn't gotten wet!

im pretty mechanically inclined which cuts down on build and repair costs. i can pay cash for the chief or Gucci. i cant for the 2006 and im not a payment kinda guy for toys. trust me the 2006 is the wise choice if finances were available. maybe someday

Rick left cafe in a warrior not a bad transition nor unhappy with either choice. I looked at the chief tears ago for the money was well worth it. Gucci seems under powered over priced for what is being recieved

Bullet if I wasn't this far along with my flat deck I would seriously consider the 90 mph cig. It was for sale a couple of years back without power for a bigger number and we didn't come together on a price . Next to my cig I would love a stagger boat with a pleasure cockpit like the 90 mph boat . I am not 3 or 6 pack boater ( wife and kids) . Who knows with the notch project complete maybe I will just stagger the flat deck. But either way I don't think you can go wrong I truly believe the 41Apache and 38 Cig flat deck are two of the best classic offshore boats ever built.
Cheers Rick.
