There's a reason it hasn't sold. With that said, people own the single step Cigs even though they are "a handful" as well. Run it carefully and it could be a good bang for the buck.

I believe that is hasn't sold because the sport has gone in a different direction in the last 8 yrs or so especially with the big "custom" blower motors. Seems like everyone now wants Mers now days as opposed to when Apaches were the top of the boat chain everyone wanted crazy blower whining motors (early to late 90's). Been a while i have seen it or ridden it but it was in good shape when i did and was fast for what it is. The step reacted and responded good compared to the typical t/s boats but yet was still efficient.
Every time the topic of "rough water" comes up, 80% of people bring up Apaches but at the same time when an Apache comes up for sale at a fair decent price no one jumps on it. The same with everyone talks about " real offshore racing where you in race into the horizon in 7-8 fts" but when people talk about bringing it back no one does it.

I agree with this. I often dream of owning a similar boat. Even with my budget that I consider to be reasonable at 50k, were I to buy this boat the maintenance and updating would get expensive quick.
Its a different class for sure, and I'd bet that the guys familiar with Apaches are beginning to age out of that realm of boating. I guess that's why I haven't been very excited to spend my money on one. I'm just afraid of the bottom falling again.
Am I wrong?

50 K wouldn't re fresh a 41's Drive train, Apaches are amazing boats but don't buy one if your hoping to boat on a budget. The good ones will always bring decent money, Lots of them have sold in the last 2 years,
