Apache Brave

Pretty sure MM never laid up a 28's. Only a few redo's of older Bobby S. 28's. It was common for MM to rebrand his redo's as new hulls for some reason, especially if they were put back into the mold.

Other adds list it as a 1991. Eric Froberg built 2 or 3 in late 90's early 2000's under the Cherokee banner and they were all composite, he raced one of them. MM had a drawing up for a new 28 Apache now called 30 Rebel with new deck that included an integrated swim platform and redesigned hatch, but I don't think he ever built one.
It's a huge 28. You can put one next to a 41 on the water and pretty much same size from the front of fairing back. Huge cabin for a 28, very comfortable to spend time in.

My brother in law had one that was neglected and uncovered outside for years before he got it. I crawled all over it thinking for sure it was rotted. Couldn’t find a soft spot anywhere. Very solid boat that handled any conditions you’d actually want to be in very well.
She's dry and covered/indoors awaiting a redo. It had a bad wrap on it and it's been a bear getting the old wrap glue off.

I have not had much time to mess with mine with everything else going on. Considering selling it on the trailer with some motors and rigging that need gone through if someone was interested. The top deck still has some glue.
Feel like lately I just shuffle it from barn spot to barn spot. But she's under a full cover & dry.

Rapid Remover and a plastic razor blade seemed to work the best. Its a tedious task that unfortunately is low on my list of free time activities as of late.
