It was actually Lake Michigan which to someone doesn't classify as a rough body of water. It was also the same race that sank Tom Gentry's boat and also I believe the Popeye's boat had a rough time also and went down or maybe vice versa.

Lake Michigan Not rough water ??????

I will chalange anyone to run 8 footers in the ocean then run 8 footers in Lake Michigan and we will see which one is termed ROUGH

Grand Haven Michigan race in the 80s started with 50 boats and had less than half finish due to waves

lucy 10-14-2003 11:24 AM

lake mich. eats boats all sizes.

Actually....if it's a shot from the video to wit:..."The Magic throttle arm of Bobby Saccenti"...and..... "There's nobody else out here folks"..........It was taken at the Benihana Grand Prix in Point Pleasant, NJ.

Boy that Rich Luhrs guy was good looking...and so gifted with words.... What ever happened to that fella?
He must be obsolete.

T2x

P.S. Thad...... you might want to re-name your company "Anger".....or "Appalling"...It fits your new image a little better...... besides "Apache" is such an "obsolete" name.

Zoomnfun 10-14-2003 11:51 AM

Thank you T2x, I've been waiting for that.

Gordo 10-14-2003 05:09 PM

Eric,
If that is the boat I'm thinking of, it was for sale.
Is it the same boat?

Eric Froberg 10-14-2003 05:35 PM

Gordo,

The one you saw for sale was my old "A" boat. It was in Texas. I don't know where it is now. The 28' in the picture was delivered to Mr. David Hess, a board member in early June. He has since added some very nice graphics. He loves his boat.

Payton 10-14-2003 07:00 PM

It's really amzing how many people love those "old lumpy resin buckets"

Hey Eric, the Canes won a big one last weekend.
Purdue keeps moving up in the polls, maybe they will both be in the national championship game.
