OK SLing

The boat business always takes 10 time longer to create the initial hull. Then you start the serious problems of trying to make money from it. Getting it right out of the gate will drive the average guy nuts. SO back to my earlier post. Wait till it gets wet then decide if its fast.

In other words, it takes a lot of time, testing, and tuning to build the first boat. The second on is easy. With that said, if Steve started with a clean sheet of paper it will surely take a lot more time than most realize. I doubt the boat is finished, nor will it be anytime soon. I think they are shooting for perfection and you can't unveil a big $$$ boat like this without perfection. I'm guessing they won't rush it just to make the show...

No disrespect, but do you think you'll ever get a straight answer from Steve1?

Note of caution:

If you do get a patent on part of the design, then you give up the chance to copyright the design with the new VESSEL HULL DESIGN PROTECTION ACT

http://www.copyright.gov/vessels/

"The Vessel Hull Design Protection Act, Title 17, Chapter 13 off the United States Code, was signed into law on October 28, 1998, providing for protection for original designs of vessel hulls. The new law grants an owner of an original vessel hull design certain exclusive rights provided that application for registration of the design with the Copyright Office is made within two years of the design being made public. "

Steve, 2 quick questions:

1. Will the boat be in Miami or if not, can people see the boat at the shop (assuming you're still finishing it)?

2. Is this boat already sold or will it be used by the company to demo and show off the new design to prospective customers?

Good luck with the rest of this project and post some updated pictures if you get the chance.

miller

P.S. Any idea of the speeds this particular hull will see when it's finished?
