Default Props on a 28?

What are you guys spinning? Are the 4 blades better or 3 blades? I've got 24 Bravos and and wondering if I should try a set of 3 blades. Prev owner claimed it pick up a couple mph with 25 Mirage's but lost cruise so he kept the 24's.

502 efi's
3b 25 mirage @ 4900 rpm
75 mph gps
ive been told to get the 3 blades worked on for more rpm's and speed.
i have to baby it alittle to get on plane or i get blowout and it porpoises alittle at slower speeds if i dont drag the tabs.

cfd5 , do you go to cumberland alot?
girlfriend and i are kinda thinking about making a road trip there sometime in august. maybe we could do some prop testing while were there

Hey Loto, Yes we go to Cumberland alot, only about 3 hours from me. Great lake, but look out for the cops, they are cracking down this year. Remind me when it gets closer to your trip and I'll meet you down there and show you around.
As far as props, I can spin my 24 bravos to 5000 with some trim. Still have not GPS'd it yet but previous owner said 67-68. Claimed he ran 71 with 25 3 blades but have yet too try them. Mine accelerates hard in the mid and pops right on plane without any cavitation. Just looking for some top speed. What do you set you tabs when cruising?

set tabs around 5 when cruising and drives around 1.
3 and 3 if im trying to outrun someone
i saw the thread about the fun cops. no big deal. i barely drink anyway especially while boating. im more concerned about crap (trees) in the water.
saw a thread about it being bad in the spring. is it better now?

sounds like you would pick up more speed with 3 blades but would have to deal with the same things i am. personal preference i suppose.........

Yeah, I'll just have to test the 3 blades and see. I like the acceleration of the 4 blades though. I have not been down to cumberland in a couple weeks, but last I heard it cleared up pretty well. The big problem this year was all the rain we got early in the season. Check with the LC.com forum to keep updated about the debris. Hope to see you in August. There is a dam close to 76 falls that everyone goes to race. Pretty fun to watch, just have to pick you battles wisely. I have been suprised many times by "sleepers". Example....ITTLFLI.
