Looks damn good Gary. Nice LED mood lighting too. When you decide on the door frames and doors, let me know. I am still undecided on those two items. I still have my original doors and frames to fall back on. Would certainly like to finish off the cockpit area with a door upgrade.
|
Door & door frames.,
If we can find a good price, I would like a set for mine,, |
well guys you chimed in at right time. i'm not going with the aluminum doors anymore, way too much money lost on paint job .i just sent files of doors this afternoon to get quotes in acrylic so i'll keep u posted. and thanks rich, she's getting there slowly but surely.
|
My first idea was to go with white acrylic. But how about this idea. Clear and paint from the back side to show thru the clear acrylic. May create a deep clear look. Or, paint a design on the cabin side of the door and from the cockpit, may look---------awesome!
|
can't give away my secrets rich! i got a few designs ideas, stay tuned. lol
|
Wow, I missed this thread. The boat looks........well.........AWESOME!

Gary, Hang in there. I'm going on 9 years. It's all good. Hull is done (hatch and paint work). Motors are back and waiting for me to plumb for water and oil, run the electrics too. All just sitting right now. No room in the shop. State contract in full swing and next four weeks are running them thru the shop and out the door. Then the hull comes in the shop and starting the rigging process.
Do I plan on finishing in time for a 2012 water test? Don't know and don't care. I am taking my time and doing it right. Didn't wait this long to hurry up and do a half azz job. Just got my IMCO shorties back from Wilson Marine. Boy they look fantastic. All of the parts are here in the shop, so it's up to me when I start this project. Flush deck hatch came out great. Dave and Mitch did excellent work-----as always. |
She is going to be one nice ride.
100% take your time, Keep the pics coming, I love the hatch, not a West Marine special.. |

well running a little behind but i'll give them credit cause he fit me in his busy schedule so i can try and get boat in water this year. here's the back seat. hopefully sun pad will be done tomorrow? it's looking pretty cool. side panels hopefully by end of next week.but what can you do?
|
as mentioned, AWESOME
|
why thank you regal!
|
Those back seats look outstanding !!
|
Thanks shootit, the guys name is ken from lapeer mi.hopefully ill post sun pad pix later today.
|
That's going to be one sick puppy!
I like the back seats & looks like the sun pad is shorter then mine. Did you move the back seat further back? Now all you need is the third motor :party-smiley-004: Are you running transom pick-ups or only lwp? I found that mine needed the transom pick-ups to run on plane. Once on plan, I had great pressure. Middle motor gets the most & does not require transom pick-ups. (believe it or not). Should be good on gas with those xs motors. I would love to get 3 on mine, just dont want to play with set up again & cost. ha,ha I can't wait to see her in the water. You have done a great job :eekdrop: |
YA JEFF,BACK SEAT WAS MOVED BACK 3 FEET,SO I HAVE LOTS A ROOM TO MOVE AND ENTERTAIN IN.SO FAR JUST LOW WATER P/U ON DRIVES? MOTORS ARE ON 12" JACK PLATES SO? do u use jackplates? how far above pads are your cone centers?
|
I found that it would suck air until the boat goes on plane.
It had bottom pick-up, which I removed & put only 2 transom pick-ups.(worked much better + less drag) Set back: Mine are atleast 12" set back, & I think its more like 18". Going to measure once I get home & let you know. Need atleast 12" for when you trim the motors, high as possible. Motor Height: Raising the motors higher, I would lose water pressure. Now, Im about even with the prop shaft & 5" higher in the middle. Start low & move them up as you go. Water pressure was the biggest issue!!! I would start at even with prop shaft & work up. I cooked 2 motors at the same time, as water pressure was only 8psi. (yes, 2 locked up, 15 seconds apart at 6400 rpms,) Also got to watch prop slip as you go on plane. Cant wait to hear, you got her in the water. If you don't like the seats, I'll take them  |
No I do not have jack plates, but would love to buy 1 that raises all the motors together.
I have enough buttons & gauges to play with, add 3 jack plates & Im a space ship dash, ha,ha But I talked with Bob's Machine Shop & they have a great one that would raise all the motors together & provide set back. Thats the way I would go, was about $4-6K to provide lift for the three. May be cheaper for 2, but I think its the way to go. But once I set it up, never had trouble again. Yes, I can raise the motors a little more & maybe gain 3-5 mph but always had to watch water pressure. not worth the worry, Set up is the fun part & you have great motors, enjoy :) |
Seats were cheap only 800 for rear seat and sun pad. 250 per side panel.
|
If I send you $2000.00 can you ship me your seats & panels?
I will pay the shipping? Had to try, ha,ha Let me know on the price for the 2 doors. I need 2 doors with hinges? Try to get more pictures of the seats & interior panels. I am hoping to send mine off this winter to be redone. Still trying to decide colours?? I now have the Mercury colours (Red,orange, black, yellow) Looks too much like old school (but still cool), need to be in the year 2000. Great Job! |

Randy, I envy that extra room that you have between the front and rear seating. Heck, you could set-up (when anchored) a little table and have lunch!!
Oooops. Sorry. I talked to Randy over in Ludington this week and had his boat on my mind. My bad Garry. Jeff aka Richard |
