Sea Ray called, they want their cruiser back...
I dont like it either, if Baja wants to compete with anyone, R&D department should be working on a stepped hull and compete with other performance boats in any length. My .02...

They can't...
wrong demographic for Baja...
they offer value for what they are, but Baja will never take the aspiring or existing Formula prospect into thier camp boat-for-boat.
Just won't happen

I don't know if I really like it. The swim step doesn't look right.
I don't think it will compete with the Formula SS series, it will blow away the SS series. The SS boats are much slower. Top speed on an SS is about 57. A .38 special can be equipped with twin 575 sc.
Bring back the 420 stepped. That was an awesome Baja.

I don't think Baja ever wishes to take existing or prospective buyers away from anyone (I'm sure if it happens they don't mind) but I think they go to the niche customer that wants better money value (i.e. less cash for what you get). Alot of people that are looking at sport cruiser's (or any other style boat in the Baja line up) will compare dollar to dollar and see that there is a great dollar value with Baja. Alot of people cant afford to throw down 500k on a sport cruiser. This is where Baja comes in...
What's the cost of this thing anyway?

Hey Tank, it is all good brother. Glad to see you understand what this boat is all about.
Personally I think it is very cool. I cannot wait to see more pictures of the cockpit and cuddy. I hear it is FIRST CLASS.
Rumor has it that the Baja folks may dump the windshield, I don't think they are very happy with that look either.
As for Sea Ray, I do not see the Sea Ray influence in this boat. They just make cruisers, this looks more like a performace boat to me. I know that Baja really does not want their boats looking like Sea Rays, what would be the point?
Doc
