What is the difference in a Baja Outlaw and H2X

A lot. Major differences are that the Outlaw series has a bolted on platform (not included in the length), more deadrise, more freeboard, stand up bolsters, and less curvy lines. If your comparing the 25 Outlaw and an H2X the Outlaw is a lot more boat. The H2X will be faster with the same power though and cheaper.

The H2X will only be faster in flat water, due to it's deadrise. I think it's 20 degrees. The Outlaw is a true deep v...24 degree deadrise. It will smoke the H2X in the rough water.

H2X was my first Baja. Really cool boats. Killer Looks. Had more storage than my 29 . I was real partial to the built in cooler holder between the front bolsters. You know what they say "you never forget your first". On occasion, a little tear runs down my face when I think of that little gem

Had one of each, both 98 models, the cabin/cabin access sux worse on the H2X than it did on the 24se Outlaw I had, H2X rode rougher than the Outlaw,,but the H2X was 3mph faster on gps with identical power and pulled harder from a standing start all the way to top end(on smooth water) in 15mph gusts with a 2 to 3 foot chop, the H2X didn't stand a chance against the Outlaw. Sold both boats to the same friend when I got rid of them and we'd run both of the side by side on more than one occasion.

I've had both also. A 99 H2X, and now own a 2005 25 OL. The H2X is only good in smooth water. That 21 Degree deadrise can really have an effect on your life if you're not careful. When mine would come out of the water, the transom would land first and the bow was still in the air. It does'nt land flat in other words.
I'll never ride in an H2X after being in an Outlaw. No comparison.
