Any 25 Outlaw owners here?
I am considering the Baja Outlaw 25. Was wondering what people thought about it. I will use it mainly in Southern California Offshore.

I've got an 04 and like the boat a lot. If you are really going to boat in the ocean regularly I'm not sure you will be comfortable in any 25' boat though. If you have any specific questions let me know.

Re: Any 25 Outlaw owners here?
The ocean is pretty much all i plan on using it in. I had a Scarab 22 and everyone thought I was nuts using it in the ocean too. It was a bit rough on the bad days but i got alot of good use on that thing charing out to the islands at 60mph steady. I figured the 25 would be fine and even better than my scarab. I didn't have stand up bolsters in the scarab and if i did i would have takin it out in the rough stuff more often. Have you taken yours out offshore at all? I assume the boat can handle it but its usually the passengers that cant.

If you liked your 22 Scarab on the Ocean, you will be fine with a 25 Outlaw...
The 22 Scarab is a really small boat compared to a 25 outlaw...

Re: Any 25 Outlaw owners here?
If driven right the 25 Outlaw can handle some pretty rough water for a 25' boat. I have one on Lake Michigan and I love it. There is really NO comparison between the 25 Outlaw and your 22 Scarab.
I think you will be surprised how well the 25 Outlaw runs the big stuff.
Lake Michigan is an extremly rough body of water and my 25 does great on it. You obviously have to watch the weather beacause a 25 Outlaw is not a 42' boat!
It is a super deep boat with a lot of freeboard for a 25 footer and feels very safe in the rough stuff.
Also it lands really SOFT on re-entry because of the 24 degree bottom and the HEFTY 4800 lb weight.

Re: Any 25 Outlaw owners here?
I had a 20 OL which is similar in size to a 22 Scarab. I now own a 25 OL and it is a HUGE, HUGE difference in ride. It really is impressive in rough water for a 25 footer, but still no match for rough ocean swells. Length is certainly the key. I'm ready for something bigger - possibly a 29 OL - but in the meantime, I love our 25 OL! Can't go wrong for the size!!

I've got an 05 25' O/L and love it. The water here where I boat is pretty rough sometimes, but with the current prop, it handles it really well. Much better than the 24' H2X I had. There are several Baja's in my area, and everyone, including me, is extremely pleased with our boats. You won't be sorry if you get one.

I was looking as one as well and was very impressed with it and had not a sweet deal on my 29 Fountain not literally landed in my lap, I would probably be riding around in one. I was a toss up between that and a more expensive 27 Fountain, but the OL has the same amount of runnng surface as a 27, it's a true 25 footer with 24 degrees of deadrise. I think a Mag HO will push the upper 60's for speed. I don't know if you're buying new or used, but since you intend to run ocean, I would consider new because the new 496 HO's are coming with closed loop cooling systems which would be a huge asset in salt water. I think it's one of the best all around single engine machines out there. Good Luck in your search!

Re: Any 25 Outlaw owners here?
The outlaw i am interested in is being advertised as having closed fresh water cooling. But I its a 1999.
Thanks for all the input. The water offshore here does get pretty rough but I pick and choose my days and im use to getting slammed around. My passengers usually dont come back and ride with me but thats ok. I think the Outlaw 25 will work really well for me. I would get a 29 but I would need a new tow vehicle along with the boat and I just bought my SUV so I think the 25 will be more friendly on my wallet too. I'll Just have to upgrade to the 29 in a few years.
