Anyone heard of "B36" ?
I have learned that there is a 1998 or 1999 Model Baja 36 Outlaw in a barn in Texas that can be bought right.
The story I'm told is the boat came from Baja as a race boat and was called "B36".
It is suppose to have 850 HP motors in it with #5 drives.
Do any of you know anything about this boat?

I remember watching a couple of races on TV
back around 98' and seeing it run.
As I recall, it had the same paint scheme
as the old 420 pace boat with the triple 800sc's
I also recall seeing it for sale many moons ago,
but can't remeber where.

Very interesting. I have sent some emails off to a couple of folks from Baja inquiring also.
Thank you for the reply.
P.S. I'm not interested in buying the boat as much as learning a little Baja history. If anyone is interested let me know and I can get you in touch with the person that has a lead on it.

If I can just remember what you said between here and the garage

Re: Anyone heard of "B36" ?
Doc,
It was built as a race boat. No cabin and only stand up bolsters. I have all the specification sheets at home. I also have the original build sheet that was supplied by BAJA and this boat was specified as a race boat. It has staggered 510 C.I. Hawk naturally aspirated engines running to SSM IV drives.
I also have some photos taken of this boat. It ran in the high 80's and crushed the waves and it was extremely competitive on the turns. It was built for and competed in the former APBA "B" class. It was advertised at one time in Powerboat magazine along with the Poker Run boat with the triple 800SC Mercruisers. Both boats shared the same paint scheme.
Please contact me and I can provide you with these documents.

Glad to see you posting on OSO. For those that don't have the pleasure of knowing you personally they are missing out on knowing a true boater, a Baja fan and a wealth of knowledge.
I should have known you would have the answers.
Please forward me anything that you have on B36.
Many thanks
