I heard the Baja cat was a project with Baja and Ocean Express.

By the way, do you know what that yellow 35 Outlaw in that picture is now named?
Is that not the boat that turned into "Poker Face"?

At first I thought it was, however it had 525's in it and not 496's.

So this may be a different boat that just had the same paint scheme.

Here are some pictures of the 35 that is now Poker Face before they replaced the top deck last winter. It ran in the 90's originally with the lighter top deck.

Don't forget that they swapped in 496 HOs into that boat for the test that Boating Magazine did for their Speedboat publication when Eric Colby was trying to find out how many miles per hour you would gain per horspower. They ran the boat with 525's then swapped them out the same day to 496's and re-tested the boat. Baja was involved with the test and they used the Poker Run 35 that eventualy turned into "Poker Face"

In December 1992 the "38" won best offshore value in PowerBoat Magazine. The boat that was in the brochure and in the magazine was mine! The first purchaser ( I purchased it used) had the wind fairing removed and installed a windshield. It had all the hardware painted or powder coated white and custom emblems for " 38 Special". There were many one off things done to that boat so it was extremely hard to get replacement parts.

Keith,

I knew you had a 38 Special, but not "THE 38 Special".

Pretty cool.

Please post some pictures for us.

Thanks
