I agree with kenny but didn't want to say it! It will never end, first the engine upgrade, then you need steering and larger props, etc. By that time you still want more speed and you never get all of your money back out of it. just my .02 anyway.

I agree with getting a bigger boat. I have been looking for next season, but I am just looking at all the options. My issues are I want a bigger boat to hold more people as we party a lot and the bigger the group the better. But I also want to go faster. Plus to complicate things more we all like to wakeboard, wakesurf and so on. I really like the Nordic heat and Rage, the Magic deck boats. I just have a real hard time spending $100,000 on a boat. And a wkaeboarding boat, while it will hold all the people I want, they are not built for speed at all.

Well the girls were in the front drinking. I didn't think it would be even close, but the water was smooth and the temp was in the 90's a lot cooler than the 115 2 weeks ago, and the water temp was cooler thean now. It was trimmed hard, big rooster tail. 4500rpm. When the water was rough ran with the tabs down and about 30-35 maybe, but it did hit 59, and on top of that the bimini was up!

That seems awful slow for that boat. My 94 208 Islander came with a 454 300 HP and a 23 Mirage and did 72 with 2 people and a light load when new. I just re-powered to a new 454 Mag but I don't know how fast it goes now as it isn't broken in yet so holding off on opening it up, but hoping to go faster than 72. I would think your boat would go faster than 60. I think my 208 weighed 3700 lbs - is this similar to yours? I just paid $4K for a new 454 mag long block plus another $500 for a aluminum hi-rise manifold and Holley 750 marine carb. This is probably a lot less than getting a bigger boat. And if I got a bigger boat I would have to get way more horsepower to get it going faster. Or am I wrong?
