I have to disagree. As Iwrote in my previous post, sometimes a little more deadrise would be better. We have got some mean chop here and I run the H2X real fast. I never came close to fall out of the boat. I donīt know what you did to get into such a situation. The OL takes the chop better, no doubt, but the H2X takes it really good. 2 or 3 foot chop is definetely just nothing for the boat. Donīt forget that the H2X will be the faster boat due to the different deadrise.

The boats are just different not one ist better or worse. It has to fit your needs.

As the picture shows it is just a matter of trim and tabs to fly fast, high and levelled. This one here is 70+.

So you'll never travel to a different lake? There's no such thing as too much hull.

Once you get inside the Outlaw and the H2X, you'll rule out the H2X. I've owned both....

we stay at the same lake each weekend, we have dry storage there and a 2nd living also. we try to take a v-kay once a year away from our lake but that's it. soRRy...

I have a 99 H2X I bought new with a 502 mpi., has been a real good boat, never have had any problems with it yet. I have heard nothing but good things about the Outlaw also.

The lake was pretty calm, but somehow there were about 5 or 6 waves that I came up on. Hit the first one, skipped the second one, then the boat came down with the third and launched up on teh 4th. I came out of the seat (because you can't stand up), flew across the passenger, hit the back of my head on the outside of the boat on the port side, scraped about a 12" square of skin off my back from the radio enclosure, then landed between the seats. I was paralyzed for at least 10 minutes, the whole time bleeding all over teh boat. I finally started getting the feeling back in my body and stood up. A friend (Jim Diesel on this site )was following me in the same boat except his was a 98 model. He said he saw the prop when it happened. It wasn't long after that both of us sold our H2X's and moved up to Outlaws.

bmergner do yourself a favor and just skip the h2x. Wish I'd done that to start with. That's just a fact of the accident and opinion on both boats. After owning both, I know what I won't own again, and it's not the Outlaw. Take that as you will, but it's whatever makes you happy and fits your needs, just as H2X has said.

Wow, that sounds like a life changing experience. Every boat reaches its limit at some point, and we all needed quite a few hours to find out where those limits are, going past them a few times and thanking our guardian angel for another good job done.
There are stories just like yours of much bigger boats than either the H2x or the 25OL. Seats getting ripped out of Cigs and Fountains, and Sunsations tearing in half.
Akex runs his 650 HP H2x every bit as hard and fast as I dare to run my Outlaw in confused and difficult water. He is, in my opinion, an extremely good driver and can keep things level because alot of experience in a variety of fast boats.
No boat will let you just hold onto the wheel and bounce gently across a series of wakes with the same drive and tab setting that you used to do 70 mph a few seconds before.

Bottom line - I love my 25, but I apprerciate the advantages of the H2x.
For a comparable model year you will pay less for a boat that still has a cabin and five good seats, a sunpad and a swim platform. it runs about 3 mph faster than the 25 with the same power, uses less fuel and comes up on plane quicker. it still looks sexy as hell, and you sit nice and low in that cockpit and look real cool.

Climb aboard both boats at the dealership, and if possible get a ride in both, look at yourself in the mirror, and decide whether you are a H2x or an Outlaw guy:D :D :D :D :D

Hey ! Thank you for that ! Sorry that the fuse stopped us from
flying high last Sunday. I had the feeling that you liked it :D

I have had critical situations in my boat life, too. No real bad ones with the H2X till now. Hope they stay away.

You brought it to a point. It is the best to test both boats and find out what kind of guy you are.

I had a'99 H2x before my 33 Outlaw and I loved it. Only reason I moved up is because all my boating is in rough water. For a lake, the H2X will be a blast. Had a 454 with just minor upgrades and could get 68 on a smooth day. After I got stainless exhaust, I could hit 70. Good luck with your purchase.

In my own opinion the H2X has geat lines and a great design it has some nice features like the hidden cooler. But when it comes to ride I like the OL better especially with the drop out bolsters and the cabin head room. I loved my H2X its just the lake I boat on gets pretty rough at times and the OL suits me better. Good luck on your choice and let us know what you end up with...
