I'm on my 4th Baja.
As far as the boat goes, I've never had any
quality issues on any of them.
Oh there's been some vendor sourced parts
issues, but nothing I can blame on the boat.
The only thing that I have/had any gripes about
was some of the lack of attention to detail
in the engine room rigging.

I agree with you, I would like to add that while many consider BAJA a production boat, let me add that all 23' hulls up use SCRIMP process that is they Vacume Bag their hulls. Also on the 23 Outlaws and up they are reinforced with Kevlar in high stress structural points.

The quality issues I saw in the late 90's boats I looked at revolved around ill-fitting parts and a lot of silicon to hide the gaps. I'm not seeing that on the newer boats. As an example, I was test driving a brand new, leftover 252 and the dash had a huge chuck out of the edge where they make the cutout for the gauge panel. Instead of repairing the fiberglass, Baja went ahead and installed the gauge panel and filled in the missing chuck of glass with silicon. You don't see work like that leaving the factory these days. As for them being a "production builder", I use that term for Baja simply due to the volume of boats they produce a year. They definitely offer a lot of customization for their boats.

Have to agree. Just got back from the Detroit show and my wife and I really liked the 30 Outlaw. I thought I had decided on a Sunsation, but now I'm really thinking about looking for an Outlaw. I was extremely surprised with the quality of the boat. Now I have never been on a Nor-tech, Outerlimits, etc... but probably never will be either, so I'll never know the difference anyway.

Yes it is! I have to keep remembering that mid-week when I am stuck on a completely stopped I-75 surrounded by "elders", tourists and other people like me that I am only a few days away from the weekend and back out on the water!!

On my third with no serious issues.
I did have to get the head liner replaced on the 36 do to a deck hatch not getting sealed properly but Baja let me take it to the shop of my choice and all was good.
I know a lot of folks that are just as happy with the brand as I am.
