8th Annual Lake Travis Baja Shootout

Over 100 Baja's are expected from all over the U.S. This includes the new 40' Baja Poker Run Boat "Split Decision". See the web site skidock.com for further information and an entry form.

Me & Nicole are going.

Dock Holiday 02-25-2008 12:41 PM

I'll be there thanks to some really good friends in Austin!:D

Looking forward to it.

Jay how are the water levels this year?

never enuff 02-25-2008 01:43 PM

The lake is full today--681. Normally this time of year the level is suppose to be about 671. So it is about 10' higher than normal for this time of year. It's also 83 here today--if you were wondering :D

Looking forward to meeting you.

Looks like the water level and the air temps should be good!

8th Annual Ski Dock Baja Shootout/ no "Split Decision"

Hey all,
Just an update, as you already know, the deal went down and now we are not going to see "Split Decision" at this years Shootout. Looks like we will have more time looking over the rail at CnC Friday afternoon listening to some killer Baja Stereos instead of riding around in a 40. oh well! :ernaehrung004:
I sent the 51" Bonzisports boat to Dave on Thursday to get it custom painted. He is sure to make it look sick, no pressure Dave. If you have not heard we talked Del into letting us buy a gas powered RTR 51" Boat to give away as the grand prize at the Shootout this year. The boat will be worth an estimated $3000 when the paint is on. Best grand prize ever if you ask me! Still working out the details with a certain insurance co. on the second prize and local prop wiz Nettle's Proppellors has throw in a $300 credit for worst hand. I hope however wins worst does not need the credit all in the same day.
If you have not pre-registered, please do so. We are going with a little more expense on the shirts this year and it will be more important to have a good count. The only way to gaurantee that I have the right size for you is to pre-register. The First Annual Baja Blast stereo contest is free to all Baja owners and to register follow the link on our website and include it with your pre-registration. I am going to block off some slips below the palapa bar at CNC for all the boats that register for the Baja Blast. Our sponsor for the event is Wetsounds based right here in Austin. Tim White has made his mark in the wakeboard boat industry and now is trying to take over the performance boats. He will be giving away free product to the winner of Best Install, Best SPL (sound pressure level) I did not know either.. and Best Installation. He was not sure what he was going to give away, but I can tell you that he does not have any cheap product.
Hope to you all soon. Who else is in? Can we start a roll call?
Anyone need help finding a slip for the weekend just give me an email. [email protected]

2008 8th Annual Ski Dock Baja Shootout

Thanks to all that have registered early!!!

I know the discount went away on Saturday for the entry fee, but I want to encourage you to still send over the pre registrations. We over ordered the shirts and if you send over the pre-registration we will have your t-shirts sorted and in the event bag with other goodies. This takes care of your obligation of payment, release signed and will get you the right sized t-shirts for your crew as supplies last. It also makes the morning of go real smooth. You show up, get a taco in one hand and grab the bag with the other, easy!
I checked the boat count before heading out to NASCAR on Sat. and we were up around 65-70 Boats and the fax machine was still busy.. I'll get another count and share with you. I was hoping for 80 boats pre-registered and 20 or so to show up this week to bust the century mark. We'll see....
