I can tell you that every Islander our dealer ever had sat and sat until they finally gave it away as a left over. As with any market, some models sell stronger than others. I think alot depends on location. I have no use for an islander on Lake Erie, since we always overnight. But, I have met people that are totally opposite and like an open bow for the extra room for their friends. There was constantly a 277 coming down the line. They couldnt build them fast enough. |
How about a all BLUE HULL !!!!!!
I will have pics up as soon as OSO gets off the fritz:ernaehrung004: |

Answers,
Yes they will go that fast, 277 w/ HO will see 64-65, BTW I just pulled the review in Powerboat, you are right it says that, I don't know if they had a diff prop or full of fuel or both but that test is off Now its not going to do it with 101 gallons of fuel and 10 people onboard, but yup she will do it Here is what boating life said, on the 278 same hull, so 50 hp less and as fast as powerboat??? " We tested it with the 375 hp version of MerCruiser's 496 Magnum, topping out in the 60 mph range. " Let me add, we will switch up props also, our 277 performs better with a 4 Blade on than a 3 blade 242 496mag 63-64 242 496HO 64-66 Feel free to come for a demo, I sold a 202 last month because the guy didn't think it would do 60mph, with a 5.0 260hp we hit 64 speedo, 61 gps needless to say he's in a BAJA and not a searay today.
