Default vapor lock problem on a 454 ho

has anyone seen a vapor lock problem on a twin screw 29 outlaw? i have a fuel problem after a normal, hard or lite run . i shut off the boat and the pass. side motor will not restart . cycle the fuel pump and yes it runs , you can hear the change in the pump after it recieves correct fuel . i have changed the fuel filter . i have installed a fuel pressure guage and when it happens , no pressure ? let the boat set or throw cold water on the pump and it will restart and run like a top untill it gets turned off and then it might start it might not . no soft fuel lines .

now here is where the vapor lock comes in , the local boat mechanic ( very good mechanic ) said he has seen a rush of this at this tempature 95 to 100 degrees. mercruzer co. said they have this problem if the under hood temp is above 150 ? i dont think mine have ever not been 150 .

anyone else seen this problem ? before i change the pump ,because i really dont think the pump is bad at only 120 hours on a 01 29 outlaw .

after this season i am about ready for my mastercraft back
!

Do you have the mechanical pump mounted to your sea pump?

There is a retrofit kit out for that problem. Any Merc service tecnician should know about it.

Nope, I pulled all my stuff off & replaced it with SX equipment when I supercharged.
