Anyone else having problems viewing that link? I can't even get to Fountain's main site.

Yes we have been keeping this under wraps, We were out with Reggie running the first 26, X-dim, prop, Hydrolic steering, expect great boats and you will not be disappointed. They are using the new Carbon fiber interiors that look awsome, and many other upgrades. Anyone would be impressed with Reggie Fountain's knowledge of boats and ability to dial a boat in!

“the 26 was showing 71 MPH on the speedometer with a half a tank of fuel and that he would be able to price the boat affordably with a slight up tick for the enhancements”.
What is a slight up tick in price? I hope he doesnt price these things out of their current market... Also, I read in the Shogren thread Fountain will only be making 11 of the current 26 models. Do we know which 11 will be made? |

I am just kicking myself for selling my boat before I came down here... |
GPS Speedometer, I think. Left of the gauge panel above the steps there´s the antenna!
71 mph will make a big difference to how the 26OL handles the competition. Velocity and 28 Bullet efficiency from a Baja?! Lets see what he can squeeze out of a 525 and 600 version. Now a 662 SCi/NXT package in one for the European market would have my attention! |
I still want to know how the Fountain built version is 4+mph faster and 200lbs heavier...
|
Man he needs a haircut.

looks very nice

As for being heavier, let me help, Hydrolic steering, K-planes, extra battery, Fountains Steal heavier fuel tank, Adding more fiberglass to bond top deck and hull. Those are just some of the upgrades that add weight. I don't think the total came to 200lbs but they just rounded it off. WILL:drink: |

To start, X-Dim, Prop, Change exhaust (hp), and spending the time to dial it all in.

WILL:drink: Just curious, was there a reason Baja didnt run that high of an X dimension before? Or optomize the prop? I ask because these are the types of changes that often have side effects, and Im just curious how much acceleration or other areas of performance have been compromised. Again, just wondering, not trying to start an arguement... |

Again, just wondering, not trying to start an arguement... with a higher X-Dim, you have a better chance of blowing the prop out, or sucking air in turns, it can also be harder to get on plane, with the addition of K-Planes, that will fix getting on plane. as for props, Fountain is upgrading those also, say Mirage VS Bravo. Fountain is really dialing them in, water testing every boat,. WILL:ernaehrung004: |
Looks like it has Lenco tabs not Kplaines
|
Looks an awful lot like a...........baja. If that 71 mph is a GPS # than I am sending back my 27 to reggie and tell him his "superior" boat is slower than its competition and I need something to fix that.

I think maybe Reggie's being Reggie, but has no clue why the Bajas sold in the first place. Probably just a distribution assets he thought would benefit him. |
Hope this helps until we know for sure.
Looks like a few of the Islamders, 26. 30. 35, 40 & 405. We will have final model selection shortly.

I never thought of that one - combine a GPS antenna with a pitot tube speedometer:grinser010:. Your passengers start taking your wish-o-meter seriously:rolleyes:.

Livorsi uses a ROUND antenna and if its a GPS Speedo it has the letters "GPS" right on it! :drink: With just a tiny bit more research you find a goofy shaped antenna they use for Sirius radio.............. |

Sirius antenna! You are so right, sir!
I bet Reggie will dial in the first 26 that goes to Powerboat Magazine real good, though. |
