Thinking about selling-- not sure where to price it??
#11
I agree with all that has been said, unfortunately for me I have spent a ton of money this year on new motors. So this puts me in an almost upside down situation. As I said above I think I am going to part out the boat so I can recover my cash. That way I can price it to sell and still have a buck or two for the downstroke.
Also when going from a Baja to a Cig, even in todays market, I could take less but will pay more for the Cig because they have a better residual value in the end, no matter what the market is.

Smitty,
Your stuff might be in to good of condition for Jason. If he bought it he wouldn't have anything to tinker around with. I'll have to admit he hasn't broken anything so far this season-----yet. I heard that he had some video on another site that shows him dusting a couple of Fountains---I guess the dick tater must have copyrighted them cause Jason hasn't posted them here??????? No hijack is intended.

Thanks for the compliments and input guys !!! It is a sweet boat with alot of sweat and time in it.
If the market right now is around 80 K or so, I think I am going to tear it apart and sell off the high perf stuff and put it all back to stock. It will then probably fetch 70K and I can get at least 30K for the drives and motors separately.
I would have thought a boat with new drives and motors would bring at least 95K. I know it is heading towards the end of the season, but I can sit on it until it sells.
Anybody looking for Xr drives or new blower motors?
Maybe I should call Jason Smith ??? Wonder what his boat will run with 800 HP per side ??/

Thanks,
Smitty

I needed those motors last weekend...that would
have got me competitive

I'm getting ready to relist a friends 98' 36 O/L SST,
Procharged 502MPI's boxes, trailer etc. for $ 60K.
We ran it earlier this summer here @ $ 70k and got
little action, people mostly wanting to talk about
how the prochargers worked out.
I'd like a 38TS too, but know getting rid of mine
will be tough too, so I'm glad I like what I have for now.
Your best bet is going to be putting it back to somewhat
stock power, Ideally a set of 496HO's...then you might
get some lookers.
Good luck...there are some deals out there on TS's

Smitty,
From what it sounds, you have a pretty nice boat. The group is right that selling a non-stock boat is difficlut, and you certainly won't get much for what you've just put into it. Stock is always easy to sell.
However, if you've got some time, maybe consider your local dealer Grand Sport try to sell it on consignment? I think the $ noted above are a little harsh. Look around - 36 ol's are going from 79 to 129, and Dock Holiday had alot of response on his add at his price. I'd bet you could get upper 90's to 100k as it sits with the right buyer (certainly that's still a big loss I'm sure). Remember the 99 (I think) on here with Merc 900's took about a year to go, and was down to low 100's before the add disapeared. Or consider Dock's approach -put 500 efi's in to sell it, and keep your motors for that next Cig!
