I was thinking of something the other day. If it can be done, I would recommend that your wizard boat guys fab up some way to pull clean intake air from the back of the boat. If I can dump my side mounted Whipples and go with top mounts like you have, I am going to make duct work that pulls fresh air from under the sunpad at the rear of the motors. It really kills the power when it is a 90 degree day out and the bilge temp is up around 130 or so. Just a thought, sorry I didn't tell you sooner.

Mine would loose couple hundred rpms after about
30 seconds of w.o.t....after adding the system I fabbed
up to only draw in outside air, they didn't fade away
anymore.

Thanks I agree and believe me I have given a lot of thought to this and looked at three different modification options.
What I did was opt for the Stage II intercooler and the low water pick ups dedicated for the intercoolers in hopes that it will e very effective against heat.
I know two guys one with a 33 and one with a 40 that both say I will get enough air in. We will see?
The wife does not want scoops and I have actually come up with an idea for scoops that will not be on the sun pad.
We are so far along now that I'm ready to run it and see exactly where we are and will probably have to make any additional changes next winter.
I'll keep you guys posted for sure. JT your setup is really sweet and I have to applaud you on the design.

Jason,
JT has 575sc motors so the air filters are on top. He built boxes around them and he pulls air from the side vents.
You and I have the side mounted Whipples, so it would work on the stb motor, but it would look like $hit to pipe over to the port motor.
Dock,
I was not thinking about any scoops or anything, just pulling air from the same spot that the bilge blower hoses are located in.
I am excited to see how your boat runs. Keep us posted.
Thanks,
Smitty

I have considered mounting a bilge fan in each of the side vents on the 33. Would be simple to do.
I have been having some problems with vapor lock in hot weather. Seems like with pushing fresh air in through the side vents and pulling it out with the bilge fans should help.

Well the Deer slayers are still MIA somewhere in the woods of southern Ohio.
But the good news is Adam is hard at work in his machine shop machining a plate to go under the sudpad for the actuator to mount to and also machine a stainless steel tube to go over the actuator with some really cool tricks to it to allow the sunpad to be raised up higher if needed and he is also putting some teflon/delrin on the ends to keep the tube from scratching up the polished actuator.
Then they go to Clayton at Kustom Kolors for painting.
This project is almost complete!

OK, so there are some shot-up trees in southern Ohio that don't like me now, but the deer are still running. Time to take a couple days to work on the boat with Adam, and get some updated photos for all. Not sure if Lane got his deer yet, but I will make another attempt myself this Sat/Sun.

Well I'm glad you had a good vacation Dave, and I'm glad you did not shoot yourself in the foot. I guess you spent a lot of money on food, ammo, beer, etc which helps the economy and certainly you needed some time off and a little R & R. But you could have at least lied and told us you got a small deer. After me hearing about all the BIG deer in the thousands up there I am a little disappointed! One of my boating buddies just headed up there yesterday and was also telling me how big the deer are. Now if he gets a nice one I will have to give you a hard time!
As mentioned above by SONIC we need pictures!
Get back to work!
