I hope you didn't take offense to that. It was just a goal I set. Good to know it ran that up there.

LKN Thursday April 9, 2009

Folks I will be out tomorrow on LKN with Ed Sherrod trying to work out the last few bugs. If anyone is going to be around come over to the Yacht Club and look us up. We plan to be there at 11am and will be at the docks mainly and when we go out to run the boat we will head to the main channel and toward I-77 causeway.

The weatherman says 70+ degrees & SUNNY.

Yes it is but I'm taking it as my holiday. We are forced to keep the business open on both Good Friday and Easter Monday because we have several customers open both days. I give all my folks a three day weekend/holiday but that means I work both Friday & Monday. So when Ed called and told be tomorrow would be the best day jumped at it!

Thanks for pointing that out my friend!:p

With the number of hours you have been working lately you deserve a day off. I wished I would have worked for a boss that would work so the employees could have an extra day off. Your a class act Mark--both on and off the water:ernaehrung004:

Thanks Jay we try to be very fair to our staff. Tommie and I try to cover all major holidays because so many of our folks are much younger and have children and need to be with their families. I try to treat folks like I want to be treated but too many times you get screwed. I just turned on the computer this morning to find a six year employee sent me his notice via email and when I arrived this morning he had already cleaned out his office, left his credit card, phone and key. I guess you cannot make everyone happy all the time. I can only assume he will show up Monday and I can find out what his intentions are.

It's never easy.

Guess who joined us at the lake yesterday?

The one and only Mr. Donzi "Blane Aarup'".

His smile said it all when he looked at the interior and we raised the hatch.

He complemented you both on an excellent job.

Tommie drove down and my local mechanic Ed also joined us all for a nice dinner at the Yacht Club. I finally ran lane off at 10PM last night so I could get home.

He was VERY impressed.

Thank you
Doc

They were cut at 90 degrees to the pick-up tube, so the 15 degree angle of the transom provides the pick-up angle that measured close to 1/4" on the backside. The angle that the photo was taken looks like they are hanging low. Doc, you need some photos taken from a good profile angle to review.

The 36ol (15*) transom angle is more than most Bajas. In comparison the 33ol is 13 degrees.

Dave,

Upon farther inspection by Ed, Blane and myself we all believe that you and Adam but the pickups right where they need to be.

If you are standing behind the boat it appears they are hanging down below the bottom of the boat bot they are actually almost flush with the bottom.

Here are some pictures I took yesterday.

Okay all water weaks leaks are GONE.

Problem SOLVED!

Attn Dave & Adam

I have a message for you from Blane Aarup.

Forget the Baja rule of using a maximum of only one inch of tape per fitting!:evilb:

We pulled the sand strainers off completely and checked them over 100%. Then we greased all the o-rings and the bottom and top rubber seal on the filters. Then we covered all the threads heavy with tape and ran the boat.

Not the smallest leak anywhere. The bilge was DRY!

I'm going to send you guys some tape for Christmas!:ernaehrung004:

Ed climbing back in the engine compartment to do his handy work.

The famous words from Ed yesterday where "Grin Factor".

This was his first ride on the boat and he was amazed at how easy we saw 87-88 MPH on flat water.

His professionally trained ears actually heard the blowers over the dry exhaust once or twice. I still have not heard them!

As Blane said with all that was done to the boat the fact we only had a few minor water leaks is amazing.
